Qualifications
MANDATORY QUALIFICATION CRITERIA: For this particular job, applicants must meet all competencies reflected under the Mandatory Qualification Criteria to include education (if required). Online resumes must demonstrate qualification by providing specific examples and associated results, in response to the announcement's mandatory criteria specified in this vacancy announcement: 1. Demonstrated proficiency addressing customer requirements and conveying analytical conclusions using one or more visualization tools (such as Tableau, PowerBI, MatPlotLib, Kibana or a similar visualization tool).2. Demonstrated proficiency in data analysis with a programming language such as R, Python or similar programming language, or software such as SAS or SPSS.3. Demonstrated experience using quantitative and qualitative analysis methods to solve problems and reach data-supported conclusions.4. Demonstrated experience communicating with, and conveying information to, both technical and non-technical personnel to share knowledge or to solve problems.EDUCATION REQUIREMENT: A. Education: Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university in Operations Research, Geographic Information Systems (GIS), Geography, or Natural Sciences; or at least 24 semester-hours in a combination of Operations Research, Mathematics, Probability, Statistics, Mathematical Logic, Science, or subject-matter courses requiring substantial competence in college-level Mathematics or Statistics. At least 3 of the 24 semester hours must have been in coding, data analysis, or data science. -OR- B. Combination of Education and Experience: A minimum of 24 semester (36 quarter) hours of coursework in any area listed in option A, that included at least 24 semester hours in a combination of Operations Research, Mathematics, Probability, Statistics, Mathematical Logic, Science, or subject-matter course substantial competence in college-level mathematics or statistics. At least 3 of the 24 semester hours must have been in coding, data analysis, or data science plus experience that required development and application of quantitative and qualitative techniques to enhance intelligence analysis or a related field that demonstrates the ability to successfully perform the duties associated with this work. As a rule, every 30 semester (45 quarter) hours of coursework is equivalent to one year of experience. Candidates should show that their combination of education and experience totals 4 years.DESIRABLE QUALIFICATION CRITERIA: In addition to the mandatory qualifications, experience in the following is desired: 1. Demonstrated ability with at least one of the following: statistical modeling; experimental design; research design; sampling; clustering; data reduction; confidence intervals; testing modeling, or predictive modeling.2. Demonstrated ability to deconstruct customer challenges and identify appropriate problem-solving techniques to address complex business operations or national security challenges.3. Demonstrated experience to work well within a team and build strategic relationships to achieve common goals.
