WALLA WALLA DISTRICT CORPS OF ENGINEERS WAS VOTED 2022 BEST PLACE FOR WORKING PARENTS About the Position: The Walla Walla District US Army Corps of Engineers is comprised of motivated and talented employees providing the very best engineering services for communities in the Pacific Northwest. The District helps manage local water resources for navigation, flood damage reduction, disaster assistance, hydroelectric power generation, and other natural and heritage areas.

Duties

Develops program objectives, operating schedules, resource requirements, and overall program plans. Prepares financial forecasts in line with program execution and maintains continuous audit trail of an actual vs. planned accomplishments and expenditures. Recommends and assists in the adjustment of program plans, objectives, and funding to accommodate engineering changes, increased production, and critical logistical/operational changes. Determines alternative courses of action and recommends changes in program goals based on tradeoffs in time, cost, and manpower requirements. Identifies trends towards slippage and time and money overruns; suggests methods that will permit regaining the schedule or rescheduling the program.

Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes: experience formulating, presenting, defending, and analyzing program requirements for a civil works program. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-11 or above). Some federal jobs allow you to substitute your education for the required experience in order to qualify. For this job at the GS-12 level, you must meet the qualification requirement using experience alone--no substitution of education for experience is permitted.
