The District helps manage local water resources for navigation, flood damage reduction, disaster assistance, hydroelectric power generation, and other natural and heritage areas.

Duties

Responsible for planning, scope, development, design, construction and direction of important civil works/military projects. As the project team leader, implement corporate decisions, guidance, laws, regulations and policies in the development of the project and intermediate products in support of the project. Negotiate and integrate all District functions sponsor/customer needs and other agencies' commitments in support of assigned project into a comprehensive management plan. Integrate schedule, milestones, budget, responsibility of the participating parties, assumptions and risks, contingencies and performance measurement criteria. Coordinate planning, design, cost-engineering, construction and environmental restoration, etc., for engineering or planning projects. Control and manage project milestones and budgets from planning through construction and initial operations. Allocate project funds to District elements, consistent with progress attained, and monitors performance to ensure commitments are being maintained.

This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-11). You will be evaluated on the basis of your level of competency in the following areas: Financial ManagementOral CommunicationProject Management Time in Grade Requirement: Applicants who have held a General Schedule (GS) position within the last 52 weeks must have 52 weeks of Federal service at the next lower grade or equivalent (GS-11).
