You will serve as a MANAGEMENT ASSISTANT (OA) in the COMMAND SERVICES DEPARTMENT of NAVCONSTTRGCEN GULFPORT MS.

Duties

You will use an automated system (e.g., management information system, Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access) to extract information. You will update manuals, policies, or directives in support of organizational programs. You will brief supervisor on background information on subject matters prior to schedule phone calls, visitors, or meetings. You will analyze program information to determine effectiveness.

Requirements

  • You will be required to obtain and maintain an interim and/or final security clearance prior to entrance on duty. Failure to obtain and maintain the required level of clearance may result in the withdrawal of a job offer or removal.
  • This position may require travel from normal duty station to CONUS and OCONUS and may include remote or isolated sites. You must be able to travel on military and commercial aircraft for extended periods of time.

Qualifications

Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-06 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: 1) Providing administrative and customer service support (i.e. preparing and processing military personnel evaluations, fitness reports, and awards) for submission to higher echelon; 2) Using database or spreadsheet software to accurately enter, revise, sort or calculate, and retrieve data for standard reports; 3) Providing advice on personnel policies and procedures; and 4) Preparing routine and non-routine correspondence; including miilitary instructions and notices and managing organizational mail operations. This position requires the ability to type at least 40 words per minute. Your response to the typing skill question on the Occupational Questionnaire will be used in your qualification determination.
