This position reports to the Office of the Treasurer (T), Digital Experience Division (TDE) through the Department of AV-Operations (TDE-AV). The primary purpose of this position is to serve as a technical expert in all Gallery wide AV systems and workflows.

Qualifications
Candidates must meet the Qualification Standards Handbook requirements for the GS-1071-12.
For this position, candidates must possess at least one year of specialized experience, equivalent in responsibility to the GS-11 level in the Federal service, serving as a technical expert in all Gallery wide AV systems and workflows for a major organization or large institution.
Other Relevant Eligibility Criteria:
Must have experience and certification in leading AV technologies such as:
- CTI certifications
- Crestron, AMX control systems
- Digital audio technologies (Audianet, BiAmp, QSC, Dante, CobraNet, BSS)
- Digital Projection certifications (Christie, Barco)
- AV over IP technologies such as NDI

Comprehensive knowledge of and wide-ranging technical expertise in the audiovisual field, including related skills in acoustics, television, communications, theatre design, motion picture industry, radio broadcast production, recording engineering, and the electrical and electronics fields.
Comprehensive knowledge of and ability to deliver AV system designs which enhance the visitor experience and improve workplace efficiency and communication.
Comprehensive knowledge of the mission of the National Gallery of Art and how AV in digital experiences can enhance and foster an appreciation and understanding of art and programs at the museum and elsewhere.
Comprehensive knowledge of and ability to use a wide variety of software and networking tools available to manage and program audio-visual equipment.

Individual Occupational Requirements
Education
Undergraduate and Graduate Education: Major study -- photography, radio or television production, motion picture production, or other fields related to the position.
Advanced training in a vocational school, technical institute, or art institute above the high school level in one of the fields listed above is creditable as general experience on a month-for-month basis.

General Experience (for GS-5 positions): Experience that demonstrated the skills and creativity needed to use the tools or equipment associated with the work. Because talent and creative ability are vital to successful work performance, samples of work or other suitable evidence of technical competence may be required. Unpaid experience that is pertinent should be credited based upon its relevance to the work of the particular position to be filled. To be qualifying, the work must have provided a general knowledge of the fields of radio, movie, television, and/or audio-visual communication.
Specialized Experience (for positions above GS-5): Experience in the actual type of work for which application is made. Unpaid experience is creditable, provided the work done was of a quality level and demonstrated the ability required for the position. This includes work directly connected with the production aspects of the field(s) of the position to be filled.
