Duties
This position is located at Alcohol and Tobacco Tax and Trade Bureau, Assistant Administrator HQ Operations - Alcohol Labeling and Formulation Division.
As a Deputy Director (Alcohol Labeling & Formulation Division), you will:
Participate as part of Bureau leadership and as a senior Division leader in strategic planning, program performance management, and program evaluation with the Division Director, including developing and executing short- and long-term plans and strategies for ALFD.
Exercise full supervisory authority over ALFD subordinate supervisory personnel to manage dynamic shifts in workload and achieve Bureau priorities.
Develop and apply statistical models to workload and workforce data in order to optimize the deployment of resources to ensure the timely delivery of products and services.
Represent the Bureau on intra-agency and inter-agency task forces and special projects relating to Division responsibilities.
Qualifications
You must meet the following requirements by the closing date of this announcement.
Specialized Experience: For the GS-15, you must have one year of specialized experience at a level of difficulty and responsibility equivalent to the GS-14 grade level in the Federal service. Specialized experience for this position includes:
You must meet at least 5 of the following 7 specialized experience statements:
Interpreting and advising on the laws and regulations administered or enforced by Federal, state, foreign, and local agencies which affect the alcohol industries; AND
Leveraging the use of data to drive decision making, understand patterns, and develop workforce planning strategies; AND
Developing and implementing strategic planning and performance measurement; AND
Implementing policies, determining goals and objectives, and determining the best approach or solution for long range needs in program or program segments; AND
Exhibiting external awareness of developments affecting multiple stakeholders; AND
Exhibiting extensive and significant coordination and communication among stakeholders; AND
Tailoring communications as appropriate for the audience.
In addition to the above requirements, you must meet the following time-in-grade requirement, if applicable: For the GS-15, you must have been at the GS-14level for 52 weeks.
Time After Competitive Appointment: Candidates who are current Federal employees serving on a nontemporary competitive appointment must have served at least three months in that appointment.
