This position will operate within the Veteran Transportation Service within Health Administration Service at the Greater Los Angeles VA Health Care System . The incumbent is directly supervised by and collaborates with the Mobility Manager for transportation workload forecasting, scheduling design, procedure development, quality improvement implementation, modification of processes, evaluation and ongoing operations. The coordination of transportation function is multi-faceted and diverse.
Duties
Duties include but are not limited to:
Schedule Veteran Transportation Service appointments.
Review reports, documents, and other applications for omissions and consistencies.
Communicate with departments within the medical center with the understanding of how they relate to the Veteran Transportation Program.
Provide advisory services to Veteran Transportation Service mobility Manager regarding the requirement and implications of the services provided.
Knowledgeable in regard to Veteran Transportation Service resource scheduling and procurement of transportation resources outside this medical center when not available at this facility or other VA facilities.
Plan and direct programs that provide total support for service functions
Demonstrate a broad knowledge and spectrum of the Route Match and Vista scheduling packages and applications.
Collect, compiles, and tracks data and statistical information in support of Veteran Transportation Service.
Review workload on a daily basis to validate accurate reporting.
Write correspondence on varied topics for distribution to individuals at all organizational levels.
Performs and analyzes data entry.
Use Microsoft software and other software programs deemed necessary by the Service.
Work Schedule: Monday-Friday, 8am-4:30pm

Qualifications
To qualify for this position, applicants must meet all requirements by the closing date of this announcement, 01/22/2024.
Time-In-Grade Requirement: Applicants who are current Federal employees and have held a GS grade any time in the past 52 weeks must also meet time-in-grade requirements by the closing date of this announcement. For a
GS-05 position you must have served 52 weeks at the GS-04. The grade may have been in any occupation, but must have been held in the Federal service. An SF-50 that shows your time-in-grade eligibility must be submitted with your application materials. If the most recent SF-50 has an effective date within the past year, it may not clearly demonstrate you possess one-year time-in-grade, as required by the announcement. In this instance, you must provide an additional SF-50 that clearly demonstrates one-year time-in-grade. Note: Time-In-Grade requirements also apply to former Federal employees applying for reinstatement as well as current employees applying for Veterans Employment Opportunities Act of 1998 (VEOA) appointment.
You may qualify based on your experience and/or education as described below:
Specialized Experience: You must have one year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the next lower grade GS-04 in the normal line of progression for the occupation in the organization. OR
Education: Applicants may substitute education for the required experience. To qualify based on education for this grade level you must have 4-year course of study post high school. OR,
Combination: Applicants may also combine education and experience to qualify at this level. You must have an combination of specialized experience and education beyond high school.

Physical Requirements: The work requires above average physical agility, such as regular and recurring periods of prolonged standing, bending, stretching, and lifting (e.g., work at passenger check-in centers or shipment document pickup centers).
