The incumbent serves as the Program Support Assistant to one of the Social Work Service program areas and Supervisor in the Community Care Program, specifically supporting the Contract Nursing Home program that serves veterans residing in community-based nursing facilities. This position works very closely with the Contract Nursing Homes (CNH) program billing team and will be tasked with reviewing bills and processing of payments via our Federal Credentialing Program (FCP).

Duties

This position works very closely with the Contract Nursing Homes (CNH) program billing team and will be tasked with reviewing bills and processing of payments via our Federal Credentialing Program (FCP). Experience with data reports, correspondence preparation, IT requests, tracking numerous administrative requirements. Experience with administrative support for meetings, conferences and presentations including logistic arrangements (meeting location, travel, lodging, etc.), presentation coordination, and minute taking. Experience with integrating several types of software to generate specific working documents and forms such as spreadsheets, databases, graphics, presentations, research manuscripts, and other similar products. Experience with timekeeping for employees. To include advising on time cards, maintaining records on employee's leave, attendance, overtime, tour of duty etc. Ability to develop and maintain electronic information files, enter data, and create reports for a variety of purposes including personnel performance reviews, workload capture, clinical billing and coding. Ability to select appropriate system, application, and format. Ability and experience with identifying and developing ways to resolve problems with the administrative and clinical staff on access, customer service, patient flow, revenue, and data validation issues. Skill working as liaison between numerous internal and external customers, including other hospitals, and other healthcare facilities. Experience with receiving visitors and telephone calls to the administrative nonclinical work area. Receives and assists visitors and Veterans in the work area and/or resolution of problems. Exercise courtesy, cooperation, and clarity when carrying out interpersonal communication with individuals representing all levels of educational, technical, and/or professional background. Qualifications

To qualify for this position, applicants must meet all requirements by the closing date of this announcement, 01/19/2024. Time-In-Grade Requirement: Applicants who are current Federal employees and have held a GS grade any time in the past 52 weeks must also meet time-in-grade requirements by the closing date of this announcement. For a GS-6 position you must have served 52 weeks at the GS-5. The grade may have been in any occupation, but must have been held in the Federal service. An SF-50 that shows your time-in-grade eligibility must be submitted with your application materials. If the most recent SF-50 has an effective date within the past year, it may not clearly demonstrate you possess one-year time-in-grade, as required by the announcement. In this instance, you must provide an additional SF-50 that clearly demonstrates one-year time-in-grade. You may qualify based on your experience as described below: Specialized Experience: You must have one year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the next lower grade GS-5 in the normal line of progression for the occupation in the organization. Examples of specialized experience would typically include, but are not limited to: Working in a medical setting as an administrative assistant. Experience working with an interdisciplinary treatment team to ensure resources are allocated and accounted for appropriately. Experience networking with community partners and acting as a liaison relative to sharing information about programs and service. Applicants for this position must show possession of the following skill: 40 words per minute typing speed. Applicants may meet these requirements by self-certifying their proficiency. You should be aware your self-certification of possession of this skill is subject to evaluation and verification.
