The position is within the Performance Improvement Section of the Health Administration Service at the James A. Haley Veterans Hospital, Tampa, FL. Accepts and supports the mission, vision, and guiding principles of this medical center. Duties
The major duties include but are not limited to:
Initiates and populates reports for Health Administration Service (HAS), including setup, cancellations, changes, etc.
Implements a variety of monitoring/reporting tools in the computer for each unit within the service and trains employees how to utilize them.
Assists in monitoring the completion of encounters, consults, Electronic Waiting List, action required/error correction, and daily tracking of their completion statistics.
Trains HAS Clerks in error correction, MPI and duplicate correction, scheduling, Advanced Clinic Access (ACA), conducts internal audits, surveys and is responsible for ACA Clinic setups.
Helps maintain the work of the Data Analysts' and all Statistical Clerk duties This includes compiling AMIS reports, which are transmitted to the Austin Automation Center through VISTA.
Uses VISTA and PC software programs (Excel, Access, Word, etc.) in preparation of correspondence, research problems, complete reports and present data.
Prepares reports, policies, and dealing effectively with persons (both internal and external customers) of various backgrounds with tact and diplomacy.
Completes setting up profiles for clinics.
Work Schedule: 7:30am- 4:00pm, Monday - Friday
Telework: VA supports the use of telework as a way to help attract and retain talented individuals in public service, increase worker productivity, and better prepare the agency to operate during emergencies. Qualifications
To qualify for this position, applicants must meet all requirements by the closing date of this announcement, 01/22/2024.
Time-In-Grade Requirement: Applicants who are current Federal employees and have held a GS grade any time in the past 52 weeks must also meet time-in-grade requirements by the closing date of this announcement. For a GS-07 position you must have served 52 weeks at the GS-06. The grade may have been in any occupation, but must have been held in the Federal service. An SF-50 that shows your time-in-grade eligibility must be submitted with your application materials. If the most recent SF-50 has an effective date within the past year, it may not clearly demonstrate you possess one-year time-in-grade, as required by the announcement. In this instance, you must provide an additional SF-50 that clearly demonstrates one-year time-in-grade.
You may qualify based on your experience as described below:
Specialized Experience: You must have one year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the next lower grade GS-06 in the normal line of progression for the occupation in the organization. Examples of specialized experience would typically include, but are not limited to:
Knowledge of basic statistical methods and formulas to calculate ratios, percentages, means, medians, frequency distributions, etc., and present a variety of statistical data in report format.
Ability to analyze and interpret complex data and recognize errors and deviations from the norm. Including databases, spreadsheets and survey data.
Knowledge of VISTA, AMIS reporting system and PC software programs such as Word, Excel, Access, in order to compile and extract data and create reports.
Initiates and populates reports for department, including setup, cancellations, changes, etc for clinic profiles.

Physical Requirements: The work is mostly sedentary. Typically, the employee sits comfortably to do the work. However, there may be some walking, standing, bending, and carrying of items such as papers and books
