About the Position: The person in this position will serve as the official point of contact for staff actions in matters pertaining to the coordination and disposition of actions and assignments in the directorate and will be responsible for monitoring, reviewing and providing recommendations on actions relating to overall staff actions.
Duties
Provide guidance based on experience and understanding of the administrative field and comprehensive knowledge of the directorate’s mission, objectives, and functional operation.
Perform advisory services for the directorate management concerning application of regulations or need for directorate policy supplements.
Review and recommend updates to SOPs and other operation plans based on changes and revisions through applying knowledge of the directorate’s mission.
Develop and coordinate presentations for military visitors, and coordinates.
Responsible for the day-to-day administrative operations of the Directorate.
Maintain control records of correspondence and action documents, including classified material.
Act as a liaison regarding manpower, civilian and military personnel and training matters to ensure effective and responsive relations.
May administer the Defense Travel System for the directorate.
Manage the directorate travel schedule ensuring appropriate coordination is received for scheduled travel, and periodic reviews are completed.
Requirements
- Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
- Appointment to this position is subject to a one year probationary period unless the appointee has previously met the requirements as described in 5 CFR Part 315.
- This position has a Temporary Duty (TDY) or business travel requirement of 5% of the time.
- This position requires the incumbent be able to obtain and maintain a determination of eligibility for a Secret security clearance or access for the duration of employment.

In order to qualify, you must meet the education and/or experience requirements described below. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student; social). Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes performing administrative duties to support various civilian personnel management programs and civilian and/or military personnel functions; drafting briefings and/or reports for leadership; providing technical advice and assistance on administrative support requirements to all elements; and Utilizing office automated databases to research and obtain personnel information for required actions. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the second lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-07).
OR
Education: Master's or equivalent graduate degree or 2 full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to such as Business Administration, Human Resource Management, Public Administration or Organizational Leadership
or a degree in a field which demonstrates the knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary to do the work of the position. (Note: You must attach a copy of your transcripts.)
OR
Combination of Education and Experience: A combination of education and experience may be used to qualify for this position as long as the computed percentage of the requirements is at least 100%. To compute the percentage of the requirements, divide your total months of experience by 12. Then divide the total number of completed graduate semester hours (or equivalent) beyond the first year (total graduate semester hours minus 18) by 18. Add the two percentages.(Note: You must attach a copy of your transcripts.)
