About the Position: This is a Budget Analyst, GS-0560-09 position with the US Air Force Academy, located in the Colorado Springs, Colorado.

Duties

Performs budget execution and administration work involving the monitoring of obligations incurred and the expenditures of funds. Monitors, tracks, and reviews obligations, expenditures, reimbursable orders, and requests for allotments, identifying and reporting differences that are not in keeping with annual work plans. Reconciles supply system transactions with financial systems and makes necessary adjustments or recommends corrective actions when applicable. Prepares guidance and/or interpretation of standard procedures and regulations relating to the organization’s budget and financial procedures/processes Provides advice, assistance, and guidance on budgeting and related information and conducts analyses, reviews and special studies of budget and/or related information.

• Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
• This is a Financial Management Level 2 Certified position the incumbent will need to obtain and maintain this certification in two years.

Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes serving as the point of contact for day-to-day budget/financial issues, review and prepare budget estimates, and recommends transfers of funds. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the second lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-07). OR Education: Master's or equivalent graduate degree or 2 full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to such a degree in a field which demonstrates the knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary to do the work of the position. OR Combination of Education and Experience: A combination of education and experience may be used to qualify for this position as long as the computed percentage of the requirements is at least 100%. To compute the percentage of the requirements, divide your total months of experience by 12. Then divide the total number of completed graduate semester hours (or equivalent) beyond the first year (total graduate semester hours minus 18) by 18. Add the two percentages.
