The primary purpose of this position: To serve as the Chief, Advanced Programs Branch and as a first line supervisor for assigned personnel.

The organizational location of this position is: Air Force Life Cycle Management Center (AFLCMC), Armament Program Executive Office Intelligence Division (EB2), Eglin AFB, Florida.
Duties
DUTY 1: Provides Technical Intelligence Engineering supportability analysis to PEO Weapons Advanced Acquisition programs.
DUTY 2: Provides detailed technical advice to the DoI, weapons directorate intelligence team, intelligence advocacy managers, and technical support personnel.
DUTY 3: Serves as Chief of the Advanced Programs Branch.
DUTY 4: Exercises supervisory personnel management responsibilities.

- This position has been designated as a Testing Designated Position (TDP) under the Air Force Civilian Testing Program. Employee must pass initial and periodic short notice drug testing.

- A Bachelor of Science Degree in Engineering or a related field or the equivalent (See Factor A – Essential Knowledge) is required. Graduate work or an advanced degree in engineering is highly desirable.

Qualifications
In order to qualify, you must meet the basic and specialized experience requirements described in the Office of Personnel Management (OPM) Qualification Standards for General Schedule Position, Professional and Scientific Positions.
This is a GG-14 position in the Defense Civilian Intelligence Personnel System (DCIPS). The GG-14 duties for the "Supervision/Management" work category are at the "Senior" work level and are equivalent to those at the GS-13 level. The selectee's salary will be set within the grade equivalent to a GS/GG grade based on the selectee's qualifications in relation to the job.
BASIC REQUIREMENT OR INDIVIDUAL OCCUPATIONAL REQUIREMENT:
0855 Electronics Engineer:
Successfully completed a professional engineering degree: The curriculum must be in a school of engineering with at least one curriculum accredited by the Accreditation Board for Engineering and Technology (ABET) as a professional engineering curriculum or include differential and integral calculus and courses (more advanced than first-year physics and chemistry) in five of the following seven areas of engineering science or physics: (a) statics, dynamics; (b) strength of materials (stress-strain relationships); (c) fluid mechanics, hydraulics; (d) thermodynamics; (e) electrical fields and circuits; (f) nature and properties of materials (relating particle and aggregate structure to properties); and (g) any other comparable area of fundamental engineering science or physics, such as optics, heat transfer, soil mechanics, or electronics. Such education must demonstrate the knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary to do the work. NOTE: YOU MUST SUBMIT COPIES OF YOUR OFFICIAL TRANSCRIPTS.
OR
Combination of education and experience that is college-level education, training, and/or technical experience that furnished (1) a thorough knowledge of the physical and mathematical sciences underlying professional engineering; and (2) a good understanding, both theoretical and practical, of the engineering sciences and techniques and their applications to one of the branches of engineering.

SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE: Your resume must reflect quality level experience which demonstrates the possession of the knowledge, skills, abilities and competencies necessary for successful job performance required for this position. Examples of creditable experience include: Knowledge of electronics engineering concepts, principles, standards, methods, techniques, practices, and procedures. Broad knowledge of agency, AF, DoD and national-level doctrine, regulations, policies, guidelines, requirements, and initiatives related to assigned program(s) and/or project(s). Note: Creditable experience may include previous military experience, experience gained in the private sector, or experience gained in another government agency.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES (KSAs): Your qualifications will be evaluated on the basis of your level of knowledge, skills, abilities and/or competencies in the following areas:
1. Expert knowledge of a wide range of multidisciplinary professional engineering concepts, principles, practices, standards, methods, techniques, materials, and equipment to effectively apply advanced engineering theories, principles, and concepts to support project development, execution, and advisory services.
2. Knowledge of acquisition policy and guidance, and the role intelligence plays throughout a weapon system's lifecycle; Acquisition Intelligence analysis mission and strategy; and the roles and responsibilities of field intelligence offices in support of USAF research laboratories, acquisition program offices, and life-cycle management, nuclear, sustainment, and system testing enterprises. General knowledge of the intelligence cycle and intelligence policy and guidance, and the structure, organization, roles and missions, and inter-relationships of the national Intelligence Community (IC), DoD, and USAF.
3. Ability to apply engineering and intelligence cycle knowledge, methodologies, principles, and concepts to accurately identify engineering and intelligence requirements or shortfalls in support of weapon systems, subsystems, and/or support equipment to determine potential courses of action, provide technical advice and direction, and/or recommend solutions to satisfy open requirements and resolve shortfalls.
4. Skill in communicating effectively with others, both orally and in writing, in working out solutions to problems or questions related to the work, writing clear and concise intelligence products, and delivering written and/or verbal presentations to senior level audiences for decision-making purposes.
5. Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing.
6. Ability to manage a small staff and carry out all phases of personnel management responsibilities.
