Duties
Leading and mentoring a team of communication professionals to ensure successful implementation of initiatives that promote an organization's values.
Developing and executing comprehensive communication strategies that cover advertising, public relations, and internal communication.
Providing technical expertise and strategic guidance to senior officials and program teams.
Overseeing the development of speeches, presentations, and materials that align with organizational objectives.
Collaborating with stakeholders, including congressional offices and partner organizations, to respond to inquiries, provide information, manage relationships, and enhance the Bureau's reputation and influence.
Tracking and assessing the effectiveness of communication efforts using feedback and data to improve strategies, tactics, and messaging.
Requirements
- United States Citizenship is required.
- Relevant experience (see Qualifications below).
- Must be able to obtain and maintain a security clearance.
- Males born after 12/31/1959 must be registered with the Selective Service.
- Direct Deposit/Electronic Funds Transfer is required.
- If you have no prior Federal experience or are selected under Delegated Examining procedures, you will be required to serve a one-year probationary period.
- If you select to be considered under Merit Promotion requirements, you must meet the Time-in-Grade requirements before the closing date of this vacancy announcement.
- These are Testing Designated Positions (TDP's) under the Agency's approved Drug-Free Work Place Program. All applicants selected for this position will be subject to random drug testing once they begin working for the Agency.
- You may be required to serve a one year Supervisory probationary period.
Qualifications
Specialized Experience:
GS-14: You must have one year of specialized experience at a level of difficulty and responsibility equivalent to the GS-13 level in the Federal service. One year of experience refers to full-time work; part-time work is considered on a prorated basis.
Examples of qualifying specialized experience at the next lower level for this position includes:
Developing and implementing comprehensive communication strategies and plans to promote the mission and objectives of an organization, specifically related to international development or diplomacy efforts in the Europe and Eurasia region.
Collaborating with internal and external stakeholders, such as congressional offices, partner organizations, and key influencers, to manage inquiries, foster relationships, and effectively communicate information about organizational objectives and achievements.
Utilizing data analysis and feedback to continuously improve messaging and tactics, adapt to evolving audience preferences, and ensure measurable impact on organizational goals.
Leading and mentoring a team of communication professionals to ensure successful implementation of initiatives that promote an organization's values.
Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience relevant to the position's duties to be filled, including volunteer experience.
