About the Position: This position is with USACE Mississippi Valley Division Executive Office and serves as a Command Division, HQ Administrative Officer, located in Vicksburg, Mississippi.

Duties

Provides team leadership, direction, and procedural/administrative guidance to administrative personnel in the Division. Oversees a variety of general administrative duties performed in support of Division involving office automation support. Provides expert assistance in troubleshooting in the areas of the administrative track, including the modules of training, awards, funding, and obligations. Prepares and/or consolidates all administrative reports required for the Division, performing research and personal contact with technical personnel. Plans and assigns work, sets priorities, and advises Division administrative team members on program processes, goals, and objectives. Serves as the training coordinator for the Executive Office, assuring that a viable training plan is in effect and maintained in consonance with the mission. Serve as the Executive Office billing official for the Government Purchase Card.

Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes advising on administrative matters (e.g. financial functions, training, awards); preparing and/or coordinating correspondence; authorizing and/or tracking expenditures of funds; and training and/or advising administrative personnel. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the second lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-09). OR Education: Ph.D or equivalent doctoral degree or 3 full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to such a degree in a field which demonstrates the knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary to do the work of the position, such as: Business Administration OR Combination of Education and Experience: A combination of education and experience may be used to qualify for this position as long as the computed percentage of the requirements is at least 100%. To compute the percentage of the requirements, divide your total months of experience by 12. Then divide the total number of completed graduate semester hours (or equivalent) beyond the second year (total graduate semester hours minus 36) by 18. Add the two percentages. You will be evaluated on the basis of your level of competency in the following areas: Administration and ManagementComputer SkillsWritten Communication Time in Grade Requirement: Applicants who have held a General Schedule (GS) position within the last 52 weeks must have 52 weeks of Federal service at the next lower grade or equivalent (GS-09).
