Serves as the Program Assistant located at the Orlando VA Medical Center, in the Health Administration Service (HAS), by directly contributing to the overall coordination and work in the Data Quality Section, performs assigned duties in a manner that promotes quality health care, outstanding customer service, and the maintenance of an environment committed to serving the veteran.
Duties
Major Duties:
Initiates and populates reports for Health Administration Service (HAS).
Monitoring/reporting tools in the computer for each unit within the service and trains employees how to utilize them.
Cross train to provide coverage for all Data Quality needs; such as Access, Statistics, Databases, and PCMM.
Monitoring the completion of encounters, consults, Electronic Waiting List, action required/error correction, MPI and duplicate correction, scheduling, Advanced Clinic Access (AGA), conducts internal audits, surveys and is responsible for ACA clinic set up.
Maintain the work of the Data Analysts' and all Statistical Clerk duties.
Responsible for transmitting the AMIS reports and ensuring all errors are corrected.
Balance, maintenance, and correction of the gains and losses in VISTA and creation of statistical reports.
Identifies indicators, progress measures, objectives, and emphasis areas for attention and opportunities for improvement.
Assists with the development of policies, procedures, reporting procedures, sampling techniques, and measurements at various points in the workload revenue cycle to identify problem areas, root cause, or inherent weaknesses in work processes, procedures, information systems and content.
Assists supervisor and staff in developing process solutions.
Provides back up assistance to the HAS Data Analysts, Trainers and Primary Care Management Module (PCMM) coordinator.
Correcting and updating the bed status reports.
Assists with developing training programs and organizational strategies for identifying opportunities to improve process quality, including patient and employee surveys and audits.
Assist supervisor with data mining, creation and running of complex reports as needed; to include independent research and deployment utilizing KLF, ARC, NPCD, PCMM, Diagnostic Measures, ProClarity and other data bases working with IMS as needed.
Setting up profiles for clinics in Orlando, Kissimmee, Orange City, and future opening CBOCS.
Coordinating, gathering, compiling and verifying a variety of complex recurrent and non-recurrent statistical reports.
Preparing monthly Internal Statistics Report (Workload Statistics Report), Electronic Wait List (EWL) report, consult report and all

Qualifications
To qualify for this position, applicants must meet all requirements by the closing date of this announcement, 01/17/2024.
Time-In-Grade Requirement: Applicants who are current Federal employees and have held a GS grade any time in the past 52 weeks must also meet time-in-grade requirements by the closing date of this announcement. For a GS-06 position you must have served 52 weeks at the GS-05. The grade may have been in any occupation, but must have been held in the Federal service. An SF-50 that shows your time-in-grade eligibility must be submitted with your application materials. If the most recent SF-50 has an effective date within the past year, it may not clearly demonstrate you possess one-year time-in-grade, as required by the announcement. In this instance, you must provide an additional SF-50 that clearly demonstrates one-year time-in-grade.
You may qualify based on your experience as described below:
Specialized Experience: You must have one year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the next lower grade GS-05 in the normal line of progression for the occupation in the organization. Examples of specialized experience would typically include, but are not limited to: Using basic data gathering methods to collect various types of information for standard interviewing and surveying techniques; Obtaining, organizing, filing, and retrieving reports, correspondence, and numerical data for use in preparing status reports, briefings, and presentations. Applying a basic understanding technical rules, guidelines, regulations, and precedents related to management and program analysis studies, products, projects, and processes.

Physical Requirements: The work is mostly sedentary. Typically, the employee sits comfortably to do the work. However, there may be some walking, standing, bending, and carrying of items such as paper and books.
