Duties
Responsible for administering and coordinating all aspects and functions of the TRICARE Program for Naval Hospital Camp Pendleton (NHCP) and Branch Health Clinics (BHC).
Directly supervise civil service, contract and military personnel and is responsible for the daily operations of the department.
Provide support to senior leadership and management by researching, analyzing, evaluating, advising and improving health care services and overseeing the MCSC, as necessary, while providing advice on expending funds for health care services.
Cooperate on a day-to-day basis with the hospital's administrative and clinical staff, especially within the terms of the Managed Care Support Contract (MCSC).
Requirements
- Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
- A Personnel Security Investigation is required.
- This position requires the incumbent be able to obtain and maintain a determination of eligibility for a Secret security clearance or access for the duration of employment. A background investigation and credit check are required.
- Selectees will be required to sign a statement (Condition of Employment) consenting to seasonal influenza vaccinations or must provide a recognized exemption.
- Immunization screening is required. Employees assigned to a medical treatment facility are required to be screened for applicable immunizations or pre-existing immunity based on occupational risk, regardless of job series.

Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes utilizing health care delivery systems to develop workload and performance reports; analyzing business operations in order to determine efficient resolutions; and applying analytical techniques to formulate basic procedures. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-12).
Some federal jobs allow you to substitute your education for the required experience in order to qualify. For this job, you must meet the qualification requirement using experience alone--no substitution of education for experience is permitted.
