This position is located in the Architect of the Capitol, Utilities and Power Plant Operations, Business Operations Division. We are seeking an energetic Purchasing Agent who will perform a variety of tasks for the acquisition of supplies, materials, equipment and services.

Qualifications

You must meet the United States Office of Personnel Management's (OPM) qualification requirements (including specialized experience and/or educational requirements) for the advertised position. To be creditable, specialized experience must have been equivalent to at least the next lower grade level. Candidates for the GS-08 grade level must have at least 52 weeks of specialized experience equivalent to the next lower grade level GS-07 in the Federal service.Specialized experience for this position includes: 1.) Utilizing purchasing regulations, methods, procedures and business practices to make purchases involving specialized and commercial requirements. 2.) Communicating effectively with a variety of individuals from different backgrounds in order to gather information, present recommendations and coordinate services. 3.) Completing critical purchasing tasks in a timely manner. 4.) Utilizing automated processes pertaining to purchasing and purchase orders.
