Duties
The incumbent supports highly scientific and technical statistical work that involves: (a) designing, developing, and adapting mathematical methods and techniques to statistical processes (b) conducting intensive research to improve sample surveys or experimental designs; (c) initiating new statistical programs, investigations and research projects or revising existing ones; and (d) ensuring data collected are accurate and free of other anomalies.

- Suitable for employment as determined by a background investigation.
- Current/former federal employees must provide SF-50 verifying grade/status
- Current FCC employees must provide SF-50 verifying grade & status.

Education must be accredited by an accrediting institution recognized by the U.S. Department of Education in order to receive credit towards qualifications. B. Specialized Experience
GS-09 Specialized Experience: Applicants must have a minimum of one year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-7 grade level in the federal service. For this position, specialized experience is defined as follows:
Preparing structured or unstructured data for statistical analysis
Ensuring that analysis data pass agency-adopted standards of data quality
Assisting senior statisticians in the sample design of agency-sponsored surveys, from frame construction to sample selection
Applying standard methods in statistical analysis and modeling using applications such as R, SAS, etc.
Producing reports and other information products that accurately present outcomes from survey data or statistical models
OR
Two (2) years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to a master's degree or equivalent graduate degree directly related to the position.
OR
C. Have a combination of education and experience.
