Duties
Serves as a developer in one of the following SAP Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) program areas: ERP Business Intelligence / Business Warehouse / Enterprise Data Warehouse (BI/BW/EDW) / Middleware.
Position provides critical SAP BI/BW/EDW reporting development, or Middleware process monitoring and development support to the military logistics infrastructure by working with SAP Functional and Technical Teams, along with the Army ERP customers.
Leads or contributes to the development and support of large-scale BI/BW or Middleware implementations and shaping the reporting infrastructure to support customer requirements.
Utilizes Agile processes, DevSecOps, Software and Systems Integration, and System Engineering (Data Analytics and Automation).
Performs development in one or more of the following SAP focus areas: DFPS; HR; PM; MM; or IM/WM.
Develops clear and consistent documentation and procedures of all SAP core ECC ABAP, BOBJ, JAVA, PI, and Portal development activities.
Responsible for discussing and helping the functional teams and customers with their business requirements for a wide range of system and process improvement projects as well as support complex daily operations.
Review the functional specs written by the functional teams and provide time estimates and development feasibility as well as execute the programming needed, test it, and document it into technical specifications.
Review junior developers’ technical specifications and provide feedback before going development is begun and/or before unit testing.
Build and implement testing plans and procedures for new or existing SAP development components (including testing of service pack upgrades).
Collaborates with appropriate stakeholders during all project phases to ensure technical knowledge is built, shared, and applied to maximize project success.
Perform complex functional and technical troubleshooting to resolve production and performance support issues.
Participates in SAP core ECC, ABAP, BOBJ, JAVA, and PI design sessions for SAP system upgrades, patches, SAP OSS notes execution, or new functionality and enhancement assessments and provide recommendations.
Develop and extend SAP logical and physical data models for design.
Perform technical SAP system configuration when needed.
Introduces SAP "best practices" in the areas of ABAP, JAVA, BOBJ, and PI and Portal development to the customer and work alongside the change management team in order to roll out daily operations/support, project work, and these best practices.
Requirements
- Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.

- Must be able to obtain and maintain a Secret security clearance.
- One-year trial/probationary period may be required.
- This is an Army Acquisition, Logistics and Technology Workforce position. Selectee must meet position requirements for Engineering
and Technical Management Foundational certification within 36 months as of entrance on duty.
- This is Defense Cyberspace Workforce Framework (DCWF) position as outlined in DoDD 8140.01.
Qualifications
This position is being filled using the Direct Hiring Authority (DHA) for AcqDemo Business and Technical Management Career Path (NH). Based on the provisions outlined in the DHA authority, if you are a current Federal employee, you will be converted to a new appointment.
The pay band NH-03 includes the General Schedule grade equivalent to GS-12/13. Other initiatives under the Acquisition Demonstration Project include simplified classification, streamlined hiring process and expanded developmental opportunities.

Experience required: To qualify based on your work experience, your resume must describe at least one year of experience which prepared you to do the work in this job.
Specialized experience: To qualify, applicants must possess one year of specialized experience equivalent to the next lower grade/level (NH-02). Specialized experience is defined as: 1) Developing System Applications and Products (SAP) Business Intelligence / Business Warehouse (BI/BW) or Business Objects (BOBJ) for data analysis; 2) Troubleshooting/testing within System Applications and Products (SAP); 3) Providing guidance on System Applications and Products (SAP) technical documentation/reports; 4) Collaborating with customers and stakeholders on SAP database and reporting requirements.
AND
Specialized experience includes, or was supplemented by, information technology related experience (paid or unpaid experience and/or completion of specific, intensive training, as appropriate) which demonstrates each of the four competencies, as defined:

Examples of IT-related experience demonstrating this competency include: convincingly conveying complex information to customers; presenting thoughts that are well-organized and demonstrating confidence in the facts and ideas; adjusting style when working with individuals with different levels of understanding; using various methods to explain and convey information; and
(4) Problem Solving - Identifies problems; determines accuracy and relevance of information; uses sound judgment to generate and evaluate alternatives, and to make recommendations.
