You will serve as a FINANCIAL TECHNICIAN in the Base Comptroller of MARINE CORPS BASE QUANTICO.

Duties

You will perform account maintenance and accounting support work requiring a basic understanding of accounting systems, policies, and procedures. You will examine, verify, maintain, reconcile accounts and accounting data, prepare and analye reports. You will be required to have knowledge of accounting systems, standard accounting codes, classifications and terminology and the ability to apply various accounting methods and techniques. You will provide technical work in support of the receipt, disbursement, examination, deposit and custody of cash items. You will examine documents for accuracy, adequacy of documentation, compliance with regulations for goods and services, reimbursements for medical domiciliary care, education, travel and transportation. You will determine pay, payroll records maintenance and completion of reports pertaining to civilian employees of the Federal Government. You will answer requests and provide advice to employees, supervisory, staff in other financial management series and personnel specialists on pay related rules, regulations and procedures.

Qualifications

Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-08 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: utilizing automated accounting systems, methods and techniques to process financial transactions, formulating budget and cost estimates, reviewing financial documentation (e.g. payroll, travel vouchers, and invoices) and other related financial management work.
