This is a Direct Hire Authority (DHA) solicitation utilizing the DHA for Information Technology Management (INFOSEC) to recruit and appoint qualified candidates to positions in the competitive service.
About the Position: This vacancy is for 2 IT SPECIALIST (INFOSEC) positions located at Fort Huachuca AZ. The incumbent will be placed on Temporary Change in Station (TCS) orders to Korea in support of (ISEC). This assignment is expected to last 3 years. Travel cost to Korea will be paid.
Duties
Serve as technical specialist for computer systems security for Army Information Systems.
Develop back up procedures for recovery from loss or destruction of data and program files, or from physical damage to the installation.
Conduct detailed analysis of security requirements for new systems or modifications to existing systems.
Ensure planned and actual software and equipment installation are accomplished in accordance with applicable security policies and regulations.
Perform internal audit functions related to risk management.
Provide technical expertise in the area of Cyber Security.
Requirements
- Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
- Position requires Temporary duty (TDY) travel of up to 25% of the time within and outside of the Continental United States (CONUS).
- Obtain and maintain a Secret clearance.
- This is an Army Acquisition, Logistics and Technology Workforce position (Practitioner). Selectee must meet position requirements for Engineering and Technology Management Certification within 60 months.
- One year Trial period may be required.
- There is no entitlement to be placed in any other position when this term appointment expires. There is no recourse for employees who are not extended.
- Term Hires must sign a Term Statement of Understanding.

Basic Requirements IT Specialist GS-2210-12- IT-related experience demonstrating each of the four competencies listed below, based on the grade-level required, at this position being filled.

Specialized Experience- One year of specialized experience which includes work that involves; 1) Evaluating the effectiveness of controls to protect automated equipment; AND 2) Assisting in the review and evaluation of existing software for compliance; AND 3) Recommending changes as they apply to assigned systems for evolving Cybersecurity requirements.
This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-11).
