About the Position: You will serve as the Logistics Assistance Program (LAP) Lead System Technical Representative (L-STR) for the TACOM Logistics Assistance Division (LAD).
Duties
Serves as the L-STR and first line Supervisor to the Logistics Assistance Division for program planning, and program execution within their Logistics Assistance Program (LAP) area of responsibility (AOR).
Interprets objectives and guidance received from TACOM Field Support Operations Directorate (FSOD), LAD, and local Army Field Support Brigade (AFSB) and AMC-SCR relating to logistics operations.
Serves as the primary point of contact for all logistics, technical and training matters involving TACOM managed equipment within their AOR.
Requirements
- This position requires the incumbent be able to obtain and maintain a determination of eligibility for a Secret security clearance or access for the duration of employment. A background investigation and credit check are required.
- This position has a Temporary Duty (TDY) or business travel requirement of 25% of the time.
- This is an Army Acquisition, Logistics and Technology Workforce position. Selectee must meet position requirements for Life Cycle Logistics Certification within 48 months of entrance on duty.
- This position is supervisory as defined by the Office of Personnel Management's (OPM) General Schedule Supervisory Guide (GSSG). A one-year probation to assess your ability to perform supervisory duties is required unless previously completed.
- A one-year probationary periods may be required.
- Position is designated as Emergency Essential to support the wartime mission during periods of increasing tension and mobilization. Incumbent must sign DD Form 2365 (DoD Civilian Employee Overseas Emergency - Essential Position Agreement).
- The employee may be required to deploy to, and remain in, hostile zones during crisis situations or mobilization, which may require flying in military aircraft.
- The employee will be required to live under field conditions; in tents consuming field rations such as Meals Ready to Eat (MRE).
- Single parents or families, where both parents are EE, are required to prepare and present their supervisor an approved family care plan.
- The employee may be on-call, work irregular hours, accompany the assigned unit during technical and training field exercises, and deploy to contingency areas to support the command's weapon systems.
- The employee is required to sign a mobility agreement, AMC Form 2884, IAW AMC-R 700-19.
- The employee may be required to wear military type uniforms, protective and or Organizational Clothing, Individual OCIE Equipment, and Chemical Defense Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) specific to an operation or as directed by the Command.
- Must be able to function in CBRN protective equipment and may have to remove facial hair to ensure the proper fit and function of protective mask. Training for all equipment is mandatory.
- Valid U.S. State driver’s license is required to obtain a military and/or international driver’s license. Must be able to obtain and maintain a valid host nation vehicle operator license when assigned OCONUS.
- The employee must meet current physical and functional requirements IAW AMC-R 700-19 and the current MOD to USCENTCOM Individual Protection and Individual - Unit Deployment Policy before employment and annually.
- The employee is responsible for ensuring no medical, dental, vision, or other health-related restrictions could prevent a deployment.
- The employee will maintain all required immunizations. If required, the employee will receive a series of vaccine immunizations to include Anthrax and annual boosters. Failure to receive vaccines may result in removal from the position.
- The employee cannot be a Reserve Component or National Guard member subject to recall to active duty. The employee must report military recall status to management to effect removal from the Ready Reserve or exemption from retiree call-up.
- Overseas assignment will be in IAW established tours as defined in DoD Civilian Personnel Joint Travel Regulations unless mission dictates otherwise.
- The employee must maintain a valid "No Fee" (Official) and a Tourist Passport at all times at the agency’s expense.

Specialized Experience: In order to qualify for this position your resume must describe one year of specialized experience equivalent to the NH-03 (GS-13 or equivalent) grade level in the Federal service which includes: 1) Monitoring/analyzing equipment fleet trend analysis studies; 2) Interpreting technical policy, procedures and regulations to ensure adherence to program schedules and Unit priorities; 3) Briefing senior leaders on various repair programs and proposing technical courses of actions to resolve fleet readiness issues; AND 4) Applying courses of action to allocate personnel and resources to provide operational support for organizations/agencies.
The definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service NH-02 or GS-11 equivalent.

- The Foundation Course (FC) is required for all employees hired after 30 September 2006.
- The Supervisory Development Course (SDC) must be completed within one year of placement into the position.

This is a DOD Demonstration Project position. Under the Defense Authorization Act, personnel management demonstration programs are operating in numerous Army activities and various other organizations supported by Army civilian personnel centers. Under the streamlined personnel operations for the demonstration projects, the familiar 15 General Schedule grade structure is replaced with broad pay bands that typically encompass a range of grades. For example, acquisition jobs in level NH-IV of broad banding encompass the traditional GS-14 through GS-15 grades. Other initiatives under the demonstration projects include simplified job classification, streamlined hiring processes, and expanded developmental opportunities.
