This position is located in the Department of Homeland Security (DHS), United States Coast Guard (USCG), Aviation Logistics Center (ALC), Short Range Recovery (SRR) Product Line, Elizabeth City, North Carolina.
Duties
The incumbent serves as the principle COR supporting the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) and the United States Coast Guard (USCG) with primary responsibility for various contractual requirements in support of USCG aviation. Additionally, the incumbent is responsible for preparing requisition packages to procure the required services, equipment and supplies necessary to suppo1t USCG aviation. The incumbent provides advice to management concerning all matters relative to the acquisition of services and supplies in suppo1t of USCG aviation. The incumbent is also responsible for the technical management of the contract/task order. Being a civilian working for the Coast Guard makes you a valuable team member.Typical duties include:

- Must obtain and maintain Contracting Officer Rep (COR) Level III cert.
- Males born after 12/31/1959 must be registered for Selective Service.
Qualifications
Applicants must have at least one year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-11 level in the federal service.Specialized experience is experience that has equipped you with the particular ability, skill, and knowledge to successfully perform the duties of this position and is typically in or related to this line of work. Examples of specialized experience includes preparing procurement packages and ensuring they are accurate, complete and timely; monitoring and verifying contractor performance and compliance with terms, conditions and specifications of the contract; and evaluating quality assurance methods and techniques proposed by the contractor.Applicants must obtain and maintain Contracting Officer Representative (COR) Certification Level III.National Service Experience (i.e., volunteer experience): Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.The Office of Personnel management (OPM) must authorize employment offers made to current or former political appointees.
