Duties

WHAT YOU'LL BE DOING DAY TO DAY As a Director of External Affairs you will use your knowledge of and experience with the Administration for Strategic Preparedness and Response (ASPR) to optimize business results and customer experience by: Serving as an executive advisor and principal representative for ASPR and providing leadership and executive direction for activities related to stakeholder engagement and external affairs. Serving as the ASPR focal point with external groups and organizations impacted by ASPR initiatives. Representing ASPR's equities with public health partners, health care coalitions, industry/private sector partners, and state, local, tribal, and territorial government agencies. Working closely with ASPR leadership and internal programs to design, implement, and improve ASPR's external goals and objectives. Providing strategic guidance and leadership to the ASPR regarding senior ASPR leadership external partnerships. Driving a proactive agenda for senior ASPR leaders to engage the right partners at the right time with the right message. Providing consultation and promoting multidisciplinary engagement on preparedness and response activities by networking with relevant public health partners, health care coalitions, industry/private sector partners, and state, local, tribal, and territorial government agencies and creating forums for interdisciplinary problem-solving. Overseeing the management of the Office of External Affairs and all relevant staff, contractors, and budget. Including but not limited to managing the office staff, developing the program/projects approach, monitoring and overseeing the strategy, ensuring adherence to budget cost and schedule, tracking and reporting on progress. Reviewing policy guidance and other planning documents to ensure adequate support within the phase of the program. Providing quality leadership and management to the rest of the Office of External Affairs team to meet deadlines and goals.

Qualifications

WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR Minimum Qualifications: You must have one-year specialized experience to perform successfully the duties of the position. To be creditable, specialized experience must have been equivalent to at least the GS-14 grade level in the Federal service performing ALL of the following: Developing/Executing strategies partnership pertaining to the complex relationship between key external groups such as public health emergency advocacy groups, preparedness, response and recovery organizations, other healthcare organization and other private sector entities. Leading a team and directing the efforts of a technical staff on external partnership programs to determine goals and objectives that need additional emphasis. Managing and overseeing administrative policies and procedures (i.e., personnel, training, budget, contractor policies and procedures, equipment, and logistics) to foster successful achievement of the organization's mission.
