THIS IS A NORTH DAKOTA NATIONAL GUARD TITLE 32 EXCEPTED SERVICE POSITION.
This ND National Guard position is for a ELECTRONIC INTEGRATED SYSTEMS MECHANIC LEADER, Position Description Number D2285P01 and is part of the ND 119 Aircraft Maintenance Squadron, National Guard.
Duties
As an Electronic Integrated Systems Mechanic Leader, you will lead three or more employees who install, modify, overhaul, maintain, troubleshoot, repair, align, calibrate, and rebuild multi-system avionics complexes consisting of multiple completely integrated electronic avionics systems where the complex accomplishes a number of major functions.
Leads a team (minimum of three mechanics) and works beside others performing Electronic Integrated Systems maintenance duties.
Performs in-process inspections within the shop and on-site of repair, diagnostics, modification, overhaul and/or rebuild of integrated electronic systems and related support equipment.
Directs on-equipment or off-equipment maintenance on one or more complete electronic integrated systems associated with the assigned aircraft, and/or maintenance on automatic flight control systems, instrument systems, inertial and radar navigation systems.
Receives general instructions and guidance from senior supervisor and ensures that the instructions are carried out precisely by the work team in order to accomplish goals and objectives.
Requirements

- This is an excepted service position that requires membership in a compatible military assignment in the ND National Guard, required prior to the effective date of placement.
- Selectee will be required to wear the military uniform.
- Acceptance of an excepted service position constitutes concurrence with these requirements as a condition of employment.
- Applicants who are not currently a member of the ND National Guard must be eligible for immediate membership and employment in the ND National Guard in the military grade listed in this announcement.
- Males born after 31 December 1959 must be registered for Selective Service.
- Federal employment suitability as determined by a background investigation.
- May be required to successfully complete a probationary period.
- Participation in direct deposition is mandatory.
- You must be able to obtain and maintain a secret security clearance.
- This position is covered by the Domestic Violence Misdemeanor Amendment (30 Sep 96) of the Gun Control Act (Lautenberg Amendment) of 1968. An individual convicted of a qualifying crime of domestic violence may not perform the duties of this position.
- May occasionally be required to work other than normal duty hours; overtime may be required.
- Must have a valid state driver's license.
- Must complete the hazmat certification within six months of employment and complete hazmat recertification every two years.
- Must maintain the AFSC skill level 7 and continue on-the-job proficiency requirements.
- Must maintain local network access IAW AFMANs 33-152, User Responsibilities and Guidance for Information Systems and 33-282, Computer Security.

Compatible Military Assignments: 2A3X5- Must have at least skill level 7.
QUALITY OF EXPERIENCE
Length of time is not of itself qualifying. GENERAL EXPERIENCE: Applicant must have the experience, training or education which lead to the basic understanding of the principles and concepts such as; 1) applying procedures and directives by reading and interpreting material; 2) training, mentoring, leading and problem solving; and 3) the skill in installing, modifying, overhauling, maintaining, troubleshooting, aligning, calibrating, and rebuilding multi-system avionics complexes consisting of multiple completely integrated electronic avionics systems where the complex accomplishes a number of major functions.
SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE: Applicant must have at least 24 months of specialized experience which includes: 1) leading and performing Electronic Integrated Systems maintenance duties; 2) performing in-process inspections within the shop and onsite of repair, diagnostics, modification, overhaul and/or rebuild of integrated electronic systems and related support equipment; 3) identifying quality standards through detailed reviews of electronic, electrical, mechanical and operational by using inspection methods; 4) performing inspections that included visual, dimensional, electrical or electronic characteristics for conformance to appearance or tolerance requirements and a function/operation test; 5) direct on-equipment or off-equipment maintenance; 6) completing supervisor's instructions on work priorities, deadlines, and quality requirements; and 7) anticipate concerns, investigate causes of critical or major defects, and apply corrective actions.
