About the position: This position will be assigned to the Roadrunner Inn Kirtland AFB, NM.
This position will be filled as Regular Part Time employment category. Regular Part Time guarantees 20 hrs/wk and may be eligible for benefits such as Medical/Dental, Group Life, 401(k), and AFNAF Retirement.
Tour of duty will include weekends & holidays, day and evening shifts, and may rotate frequently. Schedule flexibility of selected individual(s) is highly desired.
Duties
The function of the organization is to provide lodging to transient personnel and their families. The purpose of this position is to provide general maintenance support to Lodging Facilities.
Provides general maintenance assistance to higher grade personnel in the trades of Carpentry, plumbing, painting, electrical work, and refrigeration. Painting tasks include sanding, scraping, priming, and masking. Assists in clearing stoppages in plumbing and repairing leaking faucets; replaces washes in faucets. Replaces door moldings, tightens and adjusts doors, and makes minor repairs to bars. Assists in the replacement and repair of electrical fixtures. Assists in the maintenance and repair of kitchen equipment, appliances, and refrigeration units.
Performs duties in construction, alteration and repair or modification of items and structures such as framework, doors, floors, ceilings, walls, finished paneling and windows. Determines and applies standard measurements and specifications aided by clear and specific instructions, templates, precut or preplanned materials.
Operates vehicles weighing up to 2 1/2 tons to transport materials and equipment to and from work sites. Performs operator maintenance and washes vehicles in accordance with established policies. Reports discrepancies to supervisor.
Performs general housekeeping duties such as sweeping, dusting, mopping, collecting and removing trash, picking up trash from area surrounding buildings. General maintenance to grounds as required

Requirements
- This position requires the incumbent to complete a Tier 1 (T1) background investigation with favorable results.
- This is a drug testing designated position. The incumbent is subject to random testing for drug use.
- This position requires the incumbent to have a valid, current state driver's license, or the ability to obtain and maintain a valid state driver's license.
- This position requires the incumbent to satisfactorily complete a pre-employment physical examination.

Qualifying Experience:
Must have experience or education/training in routine maintenance and servicing of facilities and equipment. Ability to use a variety of maintenance and hand tools and be able to follow non-technical instructions.
Must be able to lift loads up to 50 pounds, to work in uncomfortable positions, climb on adders or platforms, and to work inside and outside in all kinds of weather.
Ability to work alone or in a group strongly desired.
Physical requirements of position include climbing, bending, stooping, and working awkward positions.
Education
Some federal jobs allow you to substitute your education for the required experience in order to qualify. This position does allow for education substitution.
FOREIGN EDUCATION: Education completed in foreign colleges or universities may be used to meet the requirements. You must show proof the education credentials have been deemed to be at least equivalent to that gained in conventional U.S. education program. It is your responsibility to provide such evidence when applying.
