Joining the Secret Service, Special Services Division, Office of Protective Operations will allow you to provide security screening of items delivered to the White House from a variety of solicited and unsolicited sources. This Assistant Operations Security Screening Program Manager (Truck Screening)position starts at a salary of $99,200.00, GS 12, step 1, with potential to $128,956.00, GS-12, step 10.
Duties
The selectee will serve as an Assistant Operations Security Screening Program Manager (Truck Screening)in the Office of Protective Operations. Typical work assignments include:
Assisting the Operations Security Screening Program manager with the daily management of the vehicle/cargo security screening program.
Overseeing subordinate employees by coordinating manpower, conducting trainings, and ensuring proper screening operations.
Conducting budgetary activities for vehicle/cargo screening operations.
Collecting data to provide information on the truck screening process.
Organizing special projects related to security and screening program operations.
Qualifications
You qualify for the GS-12 level (starting salary $99,200.00) if you possess one year of specialized experience comparable in scope and responsibility to the GS-11 level in the Federal Service (obtained in either the public or private sectors) performing the following duties:
Reviewing project plans, policies and/or Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) to determine strategies to achieve program objectives;
Analyzing program metrics to improve security program operations; and
Conducting security screenings to comply with regulations.

The incumbent may be required to obtain and maintain Contracting Officer's Representative certification within 12 months
Time-in-Grade Requirements: Under competitive merit promotion procedures, any individual who is currently holding, or who has held within the previous 52 weeks, a General Schedule position under a non-temporary appointment in the competitive or excepted service, must meet "time-in-grade" requirements (have served 52 weeks at the next lower grade of the grade for which you are applying). Time-In-Grade requirements also apply to current employees applying for a Veterans Employment Opportunities Act of 1998 (VEOA) appointment. NOTE: All current or former Federal employees must provide a copy of their SF-50 (you may need to submit more than one), "Notice of Personnel Action" that indicates proof of status and time-in-grade eligibility. The SF-50 must include your position, title, series, grade, step, tenure (1 or 2), and type of service (Competitive or Excepted).
