Joining the Secret Service, Special Services Division, Office of Protective Operations will allow you to provide security screening of items delivered to the White House from a variety of solicited and unsolicited sources. This Assistant Operations Security Screening Program Manager (Truck Screening)position starts at a salary of $99,200.00, GS 12, step 1, with potential to $128,956.00, GS-12, step 10.

Duties

The selectee will serve as an Assistant Operations Security Screening Program Manager (Truck Screening)in the Office of Protective Operations. Typical work assignments include: Assisting the Operations Security Screening Program manager with the daily management of the vehicle/cargo security screening program. Overseeing subordinate employees by coordinating manpower, conducting trainings, and ensuring proper screening operations. Conducting budgetary activities for vehicle/cargo screening operations. Collecting data to provide information on the truck screening process. Organizing special projects related to security and screening program operations.

Qualifications

You qualify for the GS-12 level (starting salary $99,200.00) if you possess one year of specialized experience comparable in scope and responsibility to the GS-11 level in the Federal Service (obtained in either the public or private sectors) performing the following duties: Reviewing project plans, policies and/or Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) to determine strategies to achieve program objectives; Analyzing program metrics to improve security program operations; and Conducting security screenings to comply with regulations. NOTE: Your resume must explicitly indicate how you meet this requirement, otherwise you will be found ineligible. The incumbent may be required to obtain and maintain Contracting Officer's Representative certification within 12 months Time-in-Grade Requirements: Under competitive merit promotion procedures, any individual who is currently holding, or who has held within the previous 52 weeks, a General Schedule position under a non-temporary appointment in the competitive or excepted service, must meet "time-in-grade" requirements (have served 52 weeks at the next lower grade of the grade for which you are applying). Time-In-Grade requirements also apply to current employees applying for a Veterans Employment Opportunities Act of 1998 (VEOA) appointment. NOTE: All current or former Federal employees must provide a copy of their SF-50 (you may need to submit more than one), "Notice of Personnel Action" that indicates proof of status and time-in-grade eligibility. The SF-50 must include your position, title, series, grade, step, tenure (1 or 2), and type of service (Competitive or Excepted). All qualification requirements must be met by the closing date of this announcement. Qualification claims will be subject to verification. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Current or Former Political Appointees: The Office of Personnel Management (OPM) must authorize employment offers made to current or former political appointees. If you are currently, or have been within the last 5 years, a political Schedule A, Schedule C, Non-career SES or Presidential Appointee employee in the Executive Branch, you must disclose this information to the Human Resources Office. Interagency/Career Transition Assistance Program (ICTAP/CTAP): This program applies to Federal service employees whose positions have been deemed surplus or no longer needed, or employees who have been involuntarily separated from a Federal service position within the competitive service.
