About the Position: The position requires knowledge of general lease acquisition and appropriate real estate regulations, procedures and policy and performs a number of administrative functions. The incumbent works under the general supervision of the Real Estate Branch Chief. Relocation and Recruitment incentives are not authorized.

Duties

Assists in negotiations for leases and supplemental agreements. Investigates minor claims for rent, damages and restoration payments incident to the use and occupancy of real estate. Reviews bills submitted against specific lease adjustment clauses and tabulates adjustments based on lease terms. Acts as training coordinator for assigned branch and tracks training as necessary. Assist in obtaining permits from commands for use of private property and other government agency property. Works with project managers and contractors to determine scope and costs of projects. Conducts research using public records to determine ownership of property and communicate with owners as necessary.

  • Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
  • The duties of this position require the incumbent to possess or obtain and maintain a valid state Driver's License in one of the 50 U.S. states or possessions to operate vehicles.

GS-07 Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes experience with general lease acquisition, real estate regulations, procedures and policy. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the second lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-06). OR Education: One full year of graduate level education in a field which demonstrates the knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary to do the work of the position, such as: Business, Real Estate, Project Management OR Combination of Education and Experience: A combination of education and experience may be used to qualify for this position as long as the computed percentage of the requirements is at least 100%. To compute the percentage of the requirements, divide your total months of experience by 12. Then divide the total number of completed graduate semester hours (or equivalent) by 18. Add the two percentages. GS-06 Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes experience with real estate processes and practices used in a full range of transactions associated with the recording and management of real property. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-05). OR Education: A half year (i.e., 9 semester hours) of graduate level education in a field which demonstrates the knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary to do the work of the position, such as Business, Real Estate, Project Management. OR Combination of Education and Experience: A combination of education and experience may be used to qualify for this position as long as the computed percentage of the requirements is at least 100%. To compute the percentage of the requirements, divide your total months of experience by 12. Then divide the total number of completed graduate semester hours (or equivalent) by 9. Add the two percentages. Proficiency Required: This position requires a qualified typist. A qualified typist can type 40 words per minute.
