You will serve as an AIR CONDITIONING EQUIPMENT MECHANIC in the PUBLIC WORKS DEPARTMENT of NAV FACILITIES ENGINEERING COMMAND SE.
Duties
You will replace major portions of various cooling units such as compressors, condensers, expansion valves, floats and service files, thermostats,coils and drive assemblies.
You will use all trade tools and test equipment including but not limited to: voltage, amperage, and ohm meters, electronic refrigerant leak detectors, micron vacuum analyzers and pumps, electronic temperature gauges, capacitor analyzers, etc.
You will test units upon completion of repair to ensure the equipment and systems operate as intended.
You will apply and interpret information in blueprints, charts and sketches.
You will test small units and systems using compound refrigeration gauges and ammeters to locate worn and broken parts.
Requirements
- Must be a US Citizen.
- Must be determined suitable for federal employment.
