Career-Seasonal appointments are permanent positions and include the same benefits as Career appointments, but do not provide work on a year-round basis. You will work from approximately 25 pay periods, and you will be in a non-pay status for the remainder of the year.

Duties
As a Maintenance Worker, you will perform the following duties:
Constructs, installs, repairs and replaces items such as doors, shelves, supply racks, hardware, frame structures, windows, trim and cabinets.
Replaces defective siding, steps, windowsills and thresholds.
Paints various types of structures such as interior and exterior metal, wood and masonry surfaces, and a variety of wooden trim and new and old cabinets.
Cleans brushes, rollers and spray equipment.
Performs plumbing tasks such as replacing hose bibs, valves, nipples, unions and elbows, fixtures, toilets, flush valves, faucets, and various types of pipe and copper lines.
Patches and repairs roofs consisting of built-up tar and paper, metal, as well as foam roofs and asphalt shingles.
Performs electrical tasks to include removing, replacing, tightening, splicing, and insulating defective wiring and fixtures.
Mixes, pours, spreads, and levels cement and concrete in preparation for final finishing.
Maintains, repairs, constructs, and/or stabilizes historic sites built of stone, mortar, or adobe and/or contemporary buildings, features or structures.
Cleans buildings, offices and comfort stations, empties trash, and cleans and waxes a variety of floors.
Operates and performs operator maintenance on cars, trucks, and/or van and stake trucks to pick up supplies and to transport materials.

To qualify for this position, you must have sufficient knowledge and ability in the following job-related factors:

Technical Practices (theoretical, precise, artistic)
Use of Measuring Instruments
Ability To Interpret Instructions, Specification, etc. (includes blueprinting reading)
Ability To Use and Maintain Tools and Equipment
Knowledge of Materials
