Duties
Operates heavy power equipment such as lawn mowers, chain saws, brush cutters, brush chippers, portable snow blowers, and all types of hand and light power tools.
Loads and unloads supplies and materials from trucks, trailers, dollies, etc.
Digs ditches and trenches; occasionally breaks up pavement, soil, or concrete; mixes and pours concrete, asphalt, and hot/cold mix; fills and levels holes in damaged roads.
Performs janitorial duties for buildings and grounds when required.
Operates vehicles in all traffic conditions, performs minor operator maintenance, vehicles weigh up 10,000 pounds.
Employment/Salary Ranges:
Acadia National Park - April to October, Bar Harbor, ME: WG-5 step 1 $20.89 to step 5 $24.36.
Katahdin Woods and Waters National Monument - May to November, Patten, ME: WG-5 step 1 $20.89 to step 5 $24.36.
Fire Island National Seashore - May to September, Patchogue, NY: WG-5 step 1 $24.66 to step 5 $28.79.
Temporary positions not-to-exceed 1039 hours in a service year may be terminated/extended based on management needs and can vary due to weather, project needs, or funding.

Must be able to perform the common laboring tasks without more than normal supervision: Operate motor vehicles such as sedans and pickup trucks (up to 10,000 GVW) for picking up supplies and transporting equipment, personnel and materials. Operate power equipment, such as lawn mowers and a variety of types of common hand tools and light power tools (such as shovels, racks, lawn edging equipment, circular saws, electric drills, etc.). Load and unload supplies and materials from trucks, trailers, dollies, etc. Perform janitorial duties, such as cleaning sinks, toilets, sweeping floors, and emptying trash. I can lift and carry objects weighing over 50 pounds.
