The primary purpose of this position is to serve as a Logistics Management Specialist and serve as focal point for integration of supply chain, program management/product support and depot operations processes to achieve goals and objectives in support of the customer.
Duties
Serves as a technical authority in organic depot requirements and supportability analysis for existing workloads and those affected by command level cross-cutting transformation initiatives.
Manages and monitors acquisition projects through their execution through horizontal integration across program management/product support, depot operations and supply chain.
Maintains liaison across ALC, AFSC, LCMC, AFMC, DLA, DOD and industry partners to include executive level working relationships on logistics support, system's management activities and depot maintenance operations.
Actively participates in strategic planning and works to achieve and support quality improvements in all products and services.

Qualifications
Experience requirements are described in the Office of Personnel Management (OPM) Qualification Standards for General Schedule Positions, Administrative and management positions. Due to the use of 120-day rosters, this period of experience may be completed within 120 days of the closing date of this announcement.
SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE: Applicants must have at least one year (52 weeks) of specialized experience at the next lower grade GS-12, or equivalent in other pay systems. Examples of specialized experience includes using the knowledge of concepts, principles, procedures, regulations, laws, and instructions applicable to the Logistics; providing technical assistance to supervisor regarding duties; and preparing programs, policies, and activities regarding logistics. NOTE: Due to the use of 120-day rosters, this period of experience may be completed within 120 days of the closing date of this announcement.
FEDERAL TIME-IN-GRADE (TIG) REQUIREMENT FOR GENERAL SCHEDULE (GS) POSITIONS: Merit promotion applicants must meet applicable time-in-grade requirements to be considered eligible. One year at the GS-12 level is required to meet the time-in-grade requirements for the GS-13 level. TIG applies if you are in a current GS position or held a GS position within the previous 52 weeks.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES (KSAs): Your qualifications will be evaluated on the basis of your level of knowledge, skills, abilities and/or competencies in the following areas:
1. An extensive knowledge of policies, procedures, and techniques of Life Cycle Sustainment and program management planning activities; in conjunction with a mastery of the fundamental elements of acquisition logistics system's management and their influence on the life-cycle management process.
2. An extensive knowledge of complex defense acquisition systems and Life Cycle Sustainment initiatives, particularly the sustainment of support systems life cycles as embodied in integrated weapon system management principles and techniques.
3. Knowledge of and ability to apply advanced lean technical process improvement principles, concepts, techniques, and practices to positively affect organizational performance.
4. Thorough knowledge of the existing DoD and Air Force policies that affect acquisition logistics and the acquisition life-cycle process, as well as keeping abreast of new or emerging policies and initiatives and the ability to advise, assist, and lead in the planning and execution of ALC-wide enterprise transformation activities that span process, organizational and supporting business system changes.
5. Mastery of a wide range of qualitive and/or quantitative methods for the assessment and improvement of program effectiveness, and skill in evaluation and application of methodologies to measure the effectiveness and productivity of implemented and proposed program management policies.
6. Demonstrated skill in oral and written presentation of diverse material to advocate and defend at all levels of management; combined with the ability to support complex acquisition management concepts and apply resourcefulness in developing course of action, forums, and venues.
7. Ability to negotiate effectively with senior leaders, customers and suppliers to accept and implement recommendations, where the proposals involve substantial resources, and/or require extensive changes in established concepts, procedures and policies.
8. Knowledge of safety and security regulations, practices, and procedures.
PART-TIME OR UNPAID EXPERIENCE: Credit will be given for appropriate unpaid and or part-time work. You must clearly identify the duties and responsibilities in each position held and the total number of hours per week.
