About the Position: Serves as an EEO Specialist, responsible for performing all EEO functions for assigned organizations for US Army Garrison, Fort George G. Meade and tenant activities on the installation.
Duties
Participate as a member of a team to manage the EEO complaints processing program, along with compliance with reasonable accommodation laws.
Update the Army's iComplaints system with required data and documentation for assigned caseload.
Assist in establishing and maintaining special emphasis program.
Assist management officials, administrative officers, legal, human resources, and safety and occupational health personnel to implement an effective reasonable accommodation (RA) process for individuals with disabilities.
Support Equal Employment Opportunity team in implementing a model Equal Employment Opportunity (EEO) program.
Requirements
- Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
- This position requires the incumbent be able to obtain and maintain a determination of eligibility for a Secret security clearance for the duration of employment.
- This position has a Temporary Duty (TDY) or business travel requirement of 20% of the time.

Specialized Experience GS-09: One year of specialized experience which includes experience reviewing regulations/policies/directives pertaining to a Federal Equal Employment Opportunity Program to provide assistance to team members and management officials, utilize fact finding methods in gathering all relevant information of requests received, ensuring compliance with applicable laws. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the second lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-07).
Specialized Experience GS-11: One year of specialized experience which includes experience reviewing regulations/policies/directives pertaining to a Federal Equal Employment Opportunity Program to ensure compliance with applicable laws. Provide guidance to team members, management officials and complainants on procedures, utilize fact finding methods in gathering all relevant information of allegations received, ensuring compliance with applicable laws.This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the second lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-09).
Specialized Experience GS-12: One year of specialized experience which includes experience researching and utilizing the laws, regulations, policies and practices of a Federal Equal Employment Opportunity Program, such as; Office of Personnel Management, Equal Employment Opportunity Commission, Merit Systems Protection Board, Civil Rights, EEO laws Code of Federal Regulations, Court decisions, Army Regulations and management directives to adjudicate, adjust and appeal EEO complaints. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-11).
Time in Grade Requirement for GS-05: Applicants who have held a General Schedule (GS) position within the last 52 weeks must have 52 weeks of Federal service at the next lower grade or equivalent (GS-07).
