This position is part of the Defense Media Activity. The incumbent serves as the Diversity Management and Equal Opportunity (DMEO) Specialist with enterprise-wide responsibility for administering and managing the affirmative action for employment of people with disabilities, civilian Equal Employment Opportunity (EEO), Military Equal opportunity (MEO), cultural diversity, Alternate Dispute Resolution (ADR) and special emphasis programs.

Duties

As a EQUAL EMPLOYMENT SPECIALIST at the GS-0260-13 some of your typical work assignments may include: Collects, analyzes and completes the MD110 and MD715 workforce demographics statistical data (excel tables) for EEOC-FEDSEP (compliance portal; serves as the MD715 Preparer). Responsible for regularly entering and updating all EEO complaints events/activities into the Case Management System (internal and external). Provides advance technical support to other EEO collateral counselors and Military Equal Opportunity services in administering the complaint process. Processes within rigid timelines informal individual complaints, conflict cases, and complaints of discrimination in accordance with the established laws and regulations. Responsible for coordination and preparation of all EEO documents from the informal, formal and the investigative process to include the EEOC process, FAD process and the appeals process. Serves as the Reasonable Accommodation Manager responsible for administering the Reasonable Accommodations and Disability Programs.

Qualifications

You may qualify at the GS-13, if you fulfill the following qualifications: A. One year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-12 grade level in the Federal service: Developing and managing reports that effectively communicate EEO-related data and trends. Managing and administering an Alternative Dispute Resolution Program with a focus on improving employee and management relations. Providing advice and assistance to supervisors, managers and employees; creating and conducting training to the workforce. Advance experience with the EEOC FEDSEP Portal in assisting with conducting analysis of the workforce tables demographic data (excel and EEOC system). Advance experience with the completion of the Management Directive 715 (MD-715) Annual Report, Management Directive 110 Annual Federal Equal Employment Opportunity Statistical Report (462 Quarterly Report) NO FEAR ACT REPORT and Federal Equal Opportunity Recruitment Report (FEORP). Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.

Education

Substitution of education may not be used in lieu of specialized experience for this grade level.
