About the Position: Position located at US Army Cadet Command Headquarters, Special Staff - Executive Services Duty, Fort Knox, KY
Duties
Serve as Protocol Specialist applying knowledge of principles, methods, practices and techniques associated with protocol functions and knowledge and understanding of military, national and international rules, customs, courtesies, and etiquette.
Determine protocol connection w/ ceremonies, receptions, official luncheons and dinners; appropriate toasts proper sequence; menus based on research and/or knowledge of cultural, religious or background information peculiar to distinguished visitor.
Perform administrative and other duties pertaining to Protocol as assigned by the Executive Services Officer.
Plan, coordinate, and execute the conduct of visits to the Command by General Officers, both foreign and domestic, and distinguished civilians of equivalent rank or higher
Brief command staff and other officials including US Army Cadet Command Deputy Chief of Staff, Chief of Staff as well as senior staff members concerning special plans and procedures pertaining to visits of guests and dignitaries to the Headquarters.
Requirements
- Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
- Temporary Duty (TDY), approximately 10% of the time.
- Must be able to obtain and maintain a Secret security clearance.
- May require One year probationary period.
- May be require to work irregular hours.
- Employee is required to attend the Acculturation C3PO third week from Entrance on Duty at Fort Knox.

To qualify based on your experience, your resume must describe at least one year of experience which prepared you to do the work in this job. Specialized experience is defined as: Work that involves developing detailed plans for events, which may include, but are not limited to determining: the scope of the visit/event, resource requirements and availability, support for printing/graphics, appropriate flags to display, conference/ceremonial arrangements, office calls, associated social functions, seating and/or table arrangements, lodging, receptions, interpreters, transportation, and escorts. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-07).
Time in Grade Requirement: Applicants who have held a General Schedule (GS) position within the last 52 weeks must have 52 weeks of Federal service at the next lower grade or equivalent (GS-07).
Education
Some federal jobs allow you to substitute your education for the required experience in order to qualify. For this position you may qualify if your education meets the definition below:
Master's or equivalent graduate degree (must provide transcripts).
or
2 full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to such a degree (must provide transcripts).
FOREIGN EDUCATION: If you are using education completed in foreign colleges or universities to meet the qualification requirements, you must show the education credentials have been evaluated by a private organization that specializes in interpretation of foreign education programs and such education has been deemed equivalent to that gained in an accredited U.S. education program; or full credit has been given for the courses at a U.S. accredited college or university.
