You will serve as a LEAD REALTY SPECIALIST with NAVFAC NORTHWEST.

Duties

You will analyze proposed real estate acquisition with respect to legality, cost, and effectiveness in satisfying an organization's needs. You will prepare plans for disposal of excess land, improvements, or leasehold interests that include recommendations on the feasibility and marketability of the land. You will conduct outgrant compliance inspections to review administrative management and operation of installation real estate activity. You will explain information concerning real estate property and long-term operational lease agreements to investigative groups. You will prepare documentation needed to execute, plan, and record real estate acquisition actions.

Requirements

  • Within the Department of Defense (DoD), the appointment of retired military members within 180 days immediately following retirement date to a civilian position is subject to the provisions of 5 United States Code 3326.

  • You will be required to obtain and maintain a current valid United States drivers license.
  • You will be required to obtain and maintain an interim and/or final security clearance prior to entrance on duty. Failure to obtain and maintain the required level of clearance may result in the withdrawal of a job offer or removal.
  • You will be required to complete training, obtain, and maintain a government credit card for travel and travel-related purchases.
  • This position may require travel from normal duty station to CONUS and OCONUS and may include remote or isolated sites. You must be able to travel on military and commercial aircraft for extended periods of time.
  • You will be required to obtain and maintain a U.S. Passport.
  • You will be required to complete ethics orientation within three months of appointment and submit a Confidential Financial Disclosure Report, OGE-450, within 30 days of appointment.

Qualifications

Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-12 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: 1) Utilizing real estate principles, practices, markets and values and applying the techniques, principles and methods applicable to real estate agreements; 2) Applying contracting methods/procedures pertaining to the full scope of real estate transactions, and provide on the spot guidance in complex situations; 3) Reviewing realty transactions and conveyances and evaluating the effect of various methods of acquisition or disposal upon the uses and value of land; and 4) Providing on-the-job training and mentoring to other Realty Specialists.
