About the Position: : The incumbent serves as the Supervisory Range Safety Operations Officer at the Directorate of Plans, Training, Mobilization, and security Division, USAG Fort Knox, Kentucky.
Duties
Supervises all aspects of the Range Operations Branch, Plans, direct and supervises a branch comprised of 17 civilian employees GS-7 through
GS-11. 24hour/7days/365 FY.
Serves as Supervisor for Range Operations personnel which includes Range Safety officer and Supervisory Range Specialist.
Directs, monitors, and Supervises compilation of data for construction of range safety cards, and surface danger area overlays, utilized by
installation recreational actives.
Coordinates with the Directorate of Public Works (DPW) on the construction of new range training facilities.
Coordinates airspace operations.

Specialized Experience: Specialized experience is defined as the advising personnel involved in the monitoring and control of ranges, facilities and all types of training; planning work schedules for employees to meet all shift requirements; plan and coordinate range training support requirements; collect, organize and maintain statistical data, records, and other pertinent information used to prepare various recurring reports for use by the installation's higher headquarters and conduct the daily business of Range Safety Operations Officer with no safety related incidents or safety violations. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-11).

Time in Grade Requirement: Applicants who have held a General Schedule (GS) position within the last 52 weeks must have 52 weeks of Federal service at the next lower grade or equivalent (GS-11).
