Duties
You will assist patrons in the use of library resources by showing them how to find items in the online public access catalog and periodical index.
You will answer a wide range of ready reference questions and assists in reader's and viewer's advisory.
You will process new, rebound, and reconditioned library materials for circulation and reference according to established procedures.
You will shelve books, magazines, and other library materials according to the established systems used in libraries, and ensures all materials are reshelved in the correct order.
You will follow established procedures, assist with the library procurement/acquisition process, checking shipments against packing slips and orders and maintaining acquisitions files.
Requirements
- Must be a US Citizen.
- Must be determined suitable for federal employment.

- This position may require travel from normal duty station to CONUS and OCONUS and may include remote or isolated sites. You must be able to travel on military and commercial aircraft for extended periods of time.
- You will be required to complete training, obtain, and maintain a government credit card for travel and travel-related purchases.
- This position requires evening and weekend work.
Qualifications
Your resume must also demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-04 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: The individual has comprehensive knowledge of library regulations, procedures, and policies, including proficiency in using online catalogs and databases, as well as routine tasks such as purchasing reporting discrepancies, renewing subscriptions, and maintaining records.

Education
In lieu of specialized experience listed in the Qualifications section, applicants may qualify based on equivalent combination of education and experience, as follows:
Successfully completed four years of education above high school level.
OR
A combination of experience and education as described above that equates to one year of experience. The percentage of the required education plus the percentage of the required experience equal one hundred percent.
