Duties

As a Public Affairs Specialist, the full performance GS-14 grade level, you will perform the following duties: Analyzes conflicting data and summarizes recommendations to the program for consideration on various points of view and specifically the reasons for accepting or rejecting the input. Participates in high-level policy making meetings and conferences serving as an advisor on reactions to new policy initiatives. Identifies communication needs and developing informational materials that inform appropriate publics of the agency's policies, programs, services, and activities. Executes and evaluates the effectiveness of information and communication programs in furthering agency goals. Formulates policy governing information dissemination functions for a significant organization component of an agency.

You qualify for the GS-13 grade level if you possess one (1) year of specialized experience at the GS-12 grade level or equivalent performing duties such as: Managing relationships with internal and external stakeholders of different media outlets Performing Media Relations. Responds to national media queries using a variety of communications methods and engagements. Prepares senior leaders for engagements, interviews, and external engagements.
