Organizational Location: This position is with the Department of Homeland Security; within U.S. Customs and Border Protection, Office of Field Operations.
Duties
As Director, National Targeting Center (Cargo), in the Office of Field Operations, at U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP), you will oversee the identification, targeting, screening, and interdiction of inbound and outbound passengers and cargo across all international modes of transportation that pose a threat to national security, public safety, and lawful trade and travel.
You will oversee the analysis of large amounts of data and use of sophisticated targeting capabilities and subject matter expertise to assess and segment risk at every stage in the cargo supply chain and travel life cycle. You will ensure the National Targeting Center leverages classified, law enforcement, commercial transportation, commercial data holdings, and open-source information in unique, proactive ways to identify high-risk shipments and travelers at the earliest possible point within the cargo supply chain or travel life cycle.
You will collaborate closely with Federal, state, local, and international partners. You will establish partnerships and liaisons with numerous Federal agencies and foreign counterparts to gain information that assists CBP to segment cargo shipments according to risk, and identify and examine, or prevent the entry of cargo shipments that may pose a threat to the United States.

Technical Qualifications - Mandatory
Knowledge of the complex cargo supply chains in all modes of transportation and the applicable federal laws, rules, regulations, and procedures pertaining to the entry/exit of merchandise, cargo, and conveyances through Ports of Entry into and out of the United States.
Experience in leveraging large volumes of data to conduct risk segmentation and utilizing targeting systems to identify high-risk cargo shipments and instruments of international traffic for examination.
