About the position: This position will be assigned to the Youth Center, on Mountain Home AFB, ID. This is a Regular-Part Time position with 20 guaranteed hours a week, but may work up to 40. This position has available benefits, to include NAF Retirement, 401K, flexible spending account (FSA), life, health and dental insurance. Lift and carry medium to heavy objects up to 40-50 pounds. Must be able to actively bend, stoop, stand, reach, and work in awkward positions.

Duties

Drives one or more types of passenger vehicles such as sedans, van, crew cab pickup trucks, jeeps and station wagons on the basis of specific trip assignments, or regular schedules. Reads map and judges road/traffic conditions to determine the shortest and safest route. Enforces passenger seatbelt use; Loads and unloads heavy boxes, bulky supplies, and materials to and from tracks, dollies, etc, moves heavy boxes, cartons, or luggage by hand, hand truck, or dolly; opens crates and boxes using crowbars, and cuts bands using shears; stacks boxes and cartons where directed. Using a shovel, digs ditches and trenches where a pick is not needed to loosen the dirt, and where grading and sloping is not required; fills holes with dirt and levels bumps and low places, using shovel, hand tamper, and rake; Runs hand lawnmowers or (domestic type) powered lawnmowers, when this does not require heavy physical effort (for example, on steep grades); clears small trees and bushes, using handsaw, hatchet, or clipper; Moves and arranges furniture as directed; shovels snow from sidewalks; washes and waxes cars and trucks by hand or power buffer Lift and carry medium to heavy objects up to 40-50 pounds. Requirements

  • This position requires satisfactory completion of pre-employment checks in accordance with Air Force and DoD policy, and a Child Care Tier 1 background investigation.
  • This position has been identified as a Test Designated Position (TDP). The incumbent of this position will be subject to and must consent to a pre-employment and random drug testing.
  • This position has physical lifting requirement which requires the incumbent to complete a favorable pre-employment physical.
  • This position requires the incumbent to be able to obtain, maintain, and provide evidence of current immunizations this includes annual influenza vaccinations and be free of all communicable diseases.
  • The duties of this position require the incumbent to possess or obtain and maintain a valid state Driver's License in one of the 50 U.S. states or possessions to operate vehicles.

You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Your resume must clearly describe your relevant experience; if qualifying based on education, your transcripts will be required as part of your application. Must posses a valid state driver's license appropriate for the size and type of vehicle operated. Must provide a copy of driving record. Knowledge of operating one or more gasoline, diesel, or electric powered wheeled vehicles with a GVW of up to 10,000 pounds such as pickup trucks, sedans, crew cab pickup trucks, jeeps, and station wagons. Posses knowledge of defensive driving techniques, including skill to recognize developing hazardous road and traffic conditions and the judgement to select alternate routes to avoid potential problems. Ability to use, control, and clean common hand tools, and simple power equipment. Ability to follow oral and/or written instructions involving duties with several distinct tasks or steps. Must be physically able to frequently lift and carry medium to heavy objects up to 40 pounds, and be able to occasionally lift and carry objects up to 50 pounds. Must be able to actively bend, stoop, stand, reach, and work in awkward positions.

Education

Some federal jobs allow you to substitute your education for the required experience in order to qualify. This position does not allow for education substitution in order to qualify.
