About the Position: This position falls under the Defense Health Agency North Central Coast Market at the Naval Medical Center Camp LeJeune, Facility Management, serving as principal advisor to the Engineering Division Head concerning facility Department business management operations and real property inventory management of the medical center campus and all outlying clinics,

Duties

Provide continuity in the Facility Management Department/Public Works office for immediate and long-range project planning of Medical/Dental facilities at the medical center campus and outlying clinics. Interact with Safety Officer, Fire Protection Specialist, Infection Control Officer, Industrial Hygiene Officer and Environmental Specialist to coordinate potential impacts of construction projects. Provide customer contact, scope and evaluation for all special, local and minor construction project requests. Review the project design, construction plans and specifications prior to contract award, for technical soundness and compliance with Navy requirements, Unified Facilities Code, and Medical Center and Dental requirements. Review cost data to accurately forecast total project costs. Regularly conducts progress and quality reviews of construction project areas.

Requirements

  • Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
  • This position requires the incumbent be able to obtain and maintain a determination of eligibility for a Secret security clearance or access for the duration of employment. A background investigation and credit check are required.
  • This position has mandatory seasonal influenza vaccination requirements and is subject to annual seasonal influenza vaccinations unless otherwise exempted for medical or religious reasons (documentation of exemption must be provided upon hire).
  • This position requires the completion of a pre-employment Physical Examination and an annual examination thereafter to ensure the continued, required level of physical health and ability or fitness to perform the duties of the position.
  • This position has been designated Mission Essential. In the event of severe weather conditions or other such emergency type situations, the incumbent is required to report to work or remain at work as scheduled to support mission operations.
  • This position requires incumbent to possess and maintain a valid state driver's license.

You will be evaluated on the basis of your level of competency in the following areas: Engineering Planning, Design, and ConstructionManages and Organizes InformationOral Communication Time in Grade Requirement: Applicants who have held a General Schedule (GS) position within the last 52 weeks must have 52 weeks of Federal service at the next lower grade or equivalent (GS-09). Preferred but not required: Certification through National Institute for Certification in Engineering Technologies.
