Duties
You will perform routine preventive maintenance including removing, replacing, and repairing defective components.
You will adjust equipment controls such as temperature sensors, thermostats, and leak detectors.
You will work from oral instructions, blueprints, and work orders.
You will trace and locate defects, determine the type and extent of repair needed.
You will assist mechanics in the installation of new plant equipment including, boilers, furnaces, pumps, and controls.
Requirements
- Must be a US Citizen.

- You possess and maintain a current valid United States driver’s license.
- This is a Mission Essential position. You will be required to ensure organization or facility continuity of operations and/or completion of tasks that are considered essential to the mission designated by a local or command decision.
- You will be required to successfully complete a pre-appointment physical examination.
- Employee will be required to furnish normal tools of the heating, ventilation, and air conditioning (HVAC) trade.
- You will be required to wear personal protective equipment such as helmets, gloves, coveralls, glasses, goggles, respirators and safety shoes continuously for the duration of the work shift.
- Selectee must be EPA (Environmental Protection Agency) Certified in Refrigerant Recovery and Recycling.
- During destructive weather conditions such as, but not limited to, ice and snowstorms, high winds, and hurricanes, incumbent may be required to report for duty.
- This position may require travel from normal duty station to CONUS and OCONUS and may include remote or isolated sites. You must be able to travel on military and commercial aircraft for extended periods of time.
- You will be required to complete training, obtain, and maintain a government credit card for travel and travel-related purchases.
- The employee is subject to callback for work other than normal duty hours, which may include evenings, weekends and/or holidays. Callbacks are often of an emergency nature and employee is expected to be available for work.
