As an Associate Deputy Comptroller (AsDC), you will serve as an expert advisor to the Deputy Comptroller on all financial institution matters and provide executive direction for Midsize & Community Bank Supervision operations including bank/thrift supervision. Duties

As an Associate Deputy Comptroller, you will: Recommend, review, and advise the Deputy Comptroller on matters of national policy, and program direction. Advise the Deputy Comptroller on the status of implementation of policy initiatives originating from the Midsize and Community Bank Supervision (MCBS) line of business and/or OCC executive management. Direct and coordinate supervision activities for bank and thrift institutions. Establish objectives and goals in support of the OCC strategic plan. Develop short and long term plans; establish priorities for the unit. Provide supervision over the examination policies, and practices and procedures, identifying existing or potential conditions of concern, and recommending appropriate legal and formal administrative actions to promote the financial industry's competitiveness, safety, and stability. Provide executive direction to Assistant Deputy Comptrollers in their responsibility to direct, coordinate and supervise examinations and other supervisory functions for the MCBS line of business. Lead, motivate, and develop a staff of employees. Evaluate performance in accordance with OCC guidelines; make personnel decisions regarding hiring, promotion, adverse actions, ect.; provide training and development opportunities. Communicate and coordinate with the Deputy Comptroller and the Senior Deputy Comptroller on policy and program issues; and participate in decisions having policy implications for front office operation. Meet with bank and thrift management and directors outside the examination process to exchange information on changing conditions, risk and significant policy or program issues. Serve as OCC spokesperson with financial institution executives, boards of directors, and federal officials and provide outreach to banking organization and other regulators.

Qualifications

You must meet the following requirements within 30 calendar days after the closing date of this announcement: You must have one year of specialized experience at a level of difficulty and responsibility equivalent to the NB-VI band level. Examples of specialized experience for this position include: Managing the planning, scheduling, and monitoring of bank thrift supervisory activities; or Serving as an advisor to senior management officials on bank and thrift supervisory issues, policies, and program initiatives AND Selective factor: You must also possess a National Bank Examiner (NBE) commission reflecting that you are authorized to sign Reports of Examinations (ROEs) for national banks and federal savings associations. The experience may have been gained in the public sector, private sector, or through volunteer service. One year of experience refers to full-time work; part-time work is considered on a prorated basis.
