You will serve as an EMERGENCY MANAGEMENT SPECIALIST in the Emergency Management (EM) Directorate of Commander, of COMNAVREGSW SDIEGO.

Duties

You will continuously maintain the CNRSW Emergency Management (EM) Plan to ensure it is executable by Region and Installation EM teams. You will coordinate with Navy commands to ensure alignment of emergency response between shore and afloat agencies within the CNRSW Area of Responsibility. You will support training and assessment of CNRSW Installation EM programs. You will support training of the CNRSW Crisis Action Team (CAT). You will be prepared to respond to emergencies during CAT activation. You will conduct annual EM risk management assessments. You will support development of Region EM exercises.

  • You will be required to obtain and maintain an interim and/or final security clearance prior to entrance on duty. Failure to obtain and maintain the required level of clearance may result in the withdrawal of a job offer or removal.
  • You will be required to wear personal protective equipment such as helmets, gloves, coveralls, glasses, goggles, respirators and safety shoes continuously for the duration of the work shift.
  • This position may require travel from normal duty station to CONUS and OCONUS and may include remote or isolated sites. You must be able to travel on military and commercial aircraft for extended periods of time.
  • This is a Mission Essential position. You will be required to ensure organization or facility continuity of operations and/or completion of tasks that are considered essential to the mission designated by a local or command decision.
  • Incumbent may be required to receive an annual or pandemic influenza vaccine.
  • Incumbent may be directed to deploy on short notice in advance of or in response to major incidents within the Region to augment Regional ERG operations or installation-level EOC staffs.

Qualifications

Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-12 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: 1) Developing all-hazards emergency management plans that provide processes and procedures throughout response and recovery from incidents; 2) Creating recommendations for development, adoptions, and implementation of an effective emergency management program; 3) Conducting emergency management assessments to identify deficiencies and recommend corrective actions; and 4) Applying concepts, principles, and/or practices of emergency management and homeland security to ensure compliance with all applicable rules and regulations.
