About the Position: The incumbent works for the Army Recovery Care and Coordination Directorate (ARCCD) in the Army Recovery Care Program (ARCP) within the Medical Command (MEDCOM). This is a comprehensive centralized coordinating office that provides services and support to the Army's most severely/seriously wounded, ill and injured Soldiers/Veterans and their Families/Caregivers.

Duties

Assist all team members, particularly client/ Family/Caregiver, to establish realistic, measurable goals with consideration of the desires of Soldier/Veteran, benefit limitations, and available resources. Apply a collaborative team approach to assess inpatients and/or outpatients. Organize data collected from multiple sources and in collaboration with the Soldier/Veteran and other members of the interdisciplinary care team. Maintain knowledge regarding Americans with Disabilities Act, Federal legislation affecting individuals with disabilities need for vocational services, assistive devices, and/or adaptive equipment. Serve as a change agent to implement lessons learned to adjust policy and increase responsiveness and effectiveness of medical and benefit systems. Insure the need of Soldier/Veteran and their Family/Caregiver is the primary consideration when making any informed decisions. Serve as an advocate for injured Soldiers and their families.

Requirements

  • Travel is required approximately 5% of time.
  • This position has been designated Mission Essential. In the event of a crisis situation, the incumbent must continue to perform ME duties until relieved by proper authority.
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain a Secret security clearance.

Additional information about transcripts is in this document. Basic Requirement for ARCCD Recovery Care Coordinator: A. Degree: Bachelor's degree (or higher degree) in behavioral or social science, or related disciplines appropriate to the position. OR B. Combination of Education and Experience: A combination of education and experience that provided the applicant with knowledge of one or more of the behavioral or social sciences equivalent to a major in the field. OR C. Experience: Four years of appropriate experience that demonstrated that the applicant has acquired knowledge of one or more of the behavioral or social sciences equivalent to a major in the field. In addition to meeting the basic requirement above, to qualify for this position you must also meet the qualification requirements listed below: Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes organizing data collected from multiple sources in collaboration with members of the interdisciplinary care team; developing and recording services provided to patients; addressing patterns or concerns at the patient, provider, and/or systems levels to promote smooth transition of patients through the health care experience. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-11). Some federal jobs allow you to substitute your education for the required experience in order to qualify. For this job, you must meet the qualification requirement using experience alone--no substitution of education for experience is permitted. You will be evaluated on the basis of your level of competency in the following areas: Information ManagementIntegrity/HonestyInterpersonal Skills Time in Grade Requirement: Applicants who have held a General Schedule (GS) position within the last 52 weeks must have 52 weeks of Federal service at the next lower grade or equivalent (GS-11).
