About the Position: This position is located at the the US Army Fires CTR of Excellence & Fort Silll TRADOC, NCO Academy located at Fort Cavazos, TX.
Duties
The incumbent provides a variety of clerical/technical support services for Non-commissioned Officer (NCO) training.
The incumbent is expected to apply some subject-matter knowledge of the organization's programs and operations, independently perform most assignments, and resolve recurring problems.
Operates a computer system and Microsoft Office Program Application to prepare correspondence, reports, messages, and other documents involving common terminology of the unit requiring accuracy in spelling, grammar, and syllabication.
Requirements
- Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
- SECRET CLEARANCE - This position requires the incumbent be able to obtain and maintain a determination of eligibility for a Secret security clearance or access for the duration of employment.
- PERFORM TEMPORARY DUTY (TDY) - This position has a Temporary Duty (TDY) or business travel requirement of up to 25% of the time.
- SHIFT WORK - This position requires shift work to provide coverage on evenings, weekends, holidays, or special situations.
- OVERTIME WORK - Due to the nature of this position, employees are required to work both planned and unscheduled overtime.

General Experience: One year of general experience. General experience is progressively responsible clerical, office, or other work that indicates ability to acquire the particular knowledge and skills needed to perform the duties of the position to be filled, such as, providing administrative guidance on unit program requirements; receiving, sorts, and routes incoming electronic mail to various distribution lists by organizational; maintaining a variety of subject matter files arranged such as alphabetically, numerically, or chronologically, containing correspondence, memoranda, and miscellaneous data; AND using resource systems to manage class schedules, school quota allocations and reservations.

Education: Two years of education above the high school level obtained in an accredited business, secretarial or technical school, junior college, college or university.
OR
Combination of Education and Experience: A combination of education and experience may be used to qualify for this position as long as the computed percentage of the requirements is at least 100%. To compute the percentage of the requirements, divide your total months of experience by 12. Then divide your semester hours of by 60. Add the two percentages.
QUALIFIED TYPIST - This position requires a qualified typist. A qualified typist can type 40 words per minute based on a 5 minute sample with three or fewer errors.
