The ideal candidate for this position will experience in floorplain management and NFIP, ordinance compliance; community planning, permitting, ordinance writing as well as providing technical assistance to communities, drafting/ giving briefings and training.

The qualification requirements listed below must be met by the closing date of this announcement. To qualify for this position at the GS-12 level (starting salary $87,466), you must possess one full year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the GS-11 level in the Federal government, which has equipped you with the skills needed to successfully perform the duties of the position. Experience may be obtained in the Federal or Private Sector and must demonstrate all of the following: Experience implementing floodplain management procedures under the National Flood Insurance Program (NFIP) at federal, state, local, tribal, or non-government agencies; AND Experience interpreting NFIP regulations to provider advice and recommendations to stakeholders; AND Experience serving as a spokesperson (presentations, briefings, etc.) for floodplain management, NIFP, and emergency management.
