Duties
In search of a self-motivated individual with experience in Satellite Communications Risk Management Framework (RMF) processes, who can self-organize work, set priorities, determine resource requirements and define goals and strategies to achieve them. Position includes defining Wideband Satellite Operations and Management System (WSOMS) RMF operational and functional requirements, and ensuring user operational interests are met throughout the system's RMF authorization process.
Certificates as Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP), Certified Information Security Manager (CISM) or CompTIA Advanced Security Practitioner (CASP+) certification are desired (but not required) and are positive discriminators. Experience with satellite payload management, network management, and telecommunications systems management for the WB SATCOM enterprise. Possessing strong technical and interpersonal skills who can effectively coordinate with other organizations; self-monitor progress, and evaluate outcomes. Ability to identify problems and use sound judgment and decisions to generate and evaluate alternatives and make recommendations.

- Required to handle and safeguard sensitive and/or classified information in accordance with regulations to reduce potential compromise.
- Employee must be able to obtain and maintain a Top Secret w/SCI clearance.
- May be required to travel by military or commercial aircraft in the performance of TDY assignments.
- Random drug testing may be required depending upon the position being filled.
- May be required to work overtime on an unscheduled or emergency basis.

Qualifications
Individual Occupational Requirements Education
Undergraduate and Graduate Education: Major study -- electrical or electronic engineering, mathematics, physics, public utilities, statistics, computer science, telecommunications management, information systems management, business administration, industrial management, or other fields related to the position to be filled.
Other Education: Communications/electronics or automatic data processing training in technical institutes or business schools above the high school level or in Armed Forces schools that included advanced instruction in addition to basic courses, may be substituted for general experience on a month-for-month basis.

Experience
General Experience (for GS-5 positions): Experience that provided a basic knowledge of telecommunications functions, problems, and/or solutions.
Specialized Experience (for positions above GS-5): Experience in evaluating, analyzing, developing, managing, or improving communications systems, procedures, and requirements that demonstrated knowledge of current developments and trends in communications concepts and technology.
