This position is located in Athletics Division of the CNRSW Morale, Welfare and Recreation (MWR) Department. The primary purpose of this position is to serve as the evening Counter Control operator and to assist the Athletic Director and Sport Coordinator.
Duties
1. Schedules play for basketball/volleyball courts and softball fields. Enforces and ensures compliance with rules of the games. Settles disputes between individuals and groups regarding use of the facility, equipment, etc.
2. Assists with budgetary data for the purchase of supplies and equipment for the gym facilities. Analyzes financial data, reviews the budget and submits reports and recommendations to the Sports Coordinator.
3. Responsible for maintaining required records such as daily and/or monthly utilization reports, inventory sheets, employee work schedules, pay accrual reports, locker rental files, fire inspection reports and any other records deemed necessary.
4. Responsible for performing minor repairs to equipment and facility. Maintains equipment and facility according to health, safety and fire regulations.
5. Responsible for the accountability of all monies and receipts. Accepts cash for payment of locker rentals according to established cash control procedures and maintains a change fund. Conducts periodic petty cash audits.
6. Responsible for maintaining adequate stock levels for athletic equipment, apparel, and janitorial supplies and ensures adequate controls are in place. Ensures that established issuing and return policies and procedures are followed for equipment and apparel. Refers delinquent returns to supervisor for appropriate billing. Responsible for issuing janitorial supplies and apparel for the Athletics and Sports Division. Acts as a universal receiver of supplies and manages a comprehensive athletic gear issue and central supply room. Manages the facilities lost and found department.
7. Assists in taking inventory at required intervals and periodic stock counts. Recommends and/or initiates requests for purchase equipment, apparel and janitorial supplies.
8. Submits recommendations and provides support to the Sports Coordinator with equipment and assistance in various recreational athletic and sports programs.
9. Responsible for the opening and closing of facility.
10. Responsible for efficiency of operation. Resolves operating problems and carries out assignments independently within the framework of established procedures. Serves and assists approximately 2,000 patrons per day exercising tact, good manners and courtesy in a prompt and friendly manner.
11. Assists supervisor in providing for adequate staffing, effective training and leadership of assigned employees. Reports employee personnel performance to supervisor for evaluations and disciplinary action, promotions, transfers and awards. Reviews and submits employee time sheets for processing. Prepares monthly pay accrual reports. Provides training to include, but not limited to, Safety, Material Safety Data, gym operation/regulations and on-the-job training.
12. Ensures compliance with fire, safety, sanitation and security regulations. Complies with safety guidelines to include manufacturer's safety suggestions for equipment and safety operations.
13. Performs other related duties as assigned.
Requirements
- Must meet Federal Employment suitability requirements and successful completion of background investigation. Background Investigations are conducted using fingerprint identification and completion of background inquiry forms.
- Must successfully pass the E-Verify employment verification check. Any discrepancies must be resolved as a condition of employment.
Qualifications
Two years experience in related recreational activity.
Cash handling experience desirable.
Ability to organize and coordinate activity.
Ability to perform minor maintenance of equipment.
Ability to maintain reports and records.
Ability to perform basic mathematical calculations
Ability to follow verbal and written instructions.
Ability to communicate and deal effectively with others.
Knowledge and skill to promote good customer relations
Must be able to obtain a valid CPR Card and First Aid Card within 60 days of employment. (If required)
